    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

Walsall again play in a low corner and this time Tom Bradshaw gets there, but gets too much of his foot underneath the ball and it flies over the bar.

At least they are giving their fans something to cheer about in this situation.

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

This is much better from Walsall, but way too late of course.

James Chambers tries his luck from distance, but Adam Davies does well to get down to his right and stop it.

Meanwhile, we have a tactical change for Walsall as midfielder Jordan Cook comes on for defender Andy Taylor.

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

Tom Bradshaw is next to try his luck for Walsall and takes on a number of defenders before finally knocking the ball too far forward in a crowded area and Adam Davies picks up the ball.

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

Big claims for handball from the Walsall players as Sam Mantom's low corner comes in and hits George Williams in the upper body. It would have been harsh to be honest.

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

If Walsall are to score, the man looking most likely to be involved is wing-back Rico Henry. His dancing feet allow him to get into the box, but just as he looks to pull the trigger he is stopped by a great Barnsley tackle.

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

Walsall defender Paul Downing has come so close to scoring an own goal. Ashley Fletcher drives into the area and tries to lay in Sam Winnall, free in the six-yard box, but his low pass across goal is cut out by Downing, who turns the ball just past the post. And I mean just.

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

Ashley Fletcher has another strike at goal from Adam Hammill's ball into the box, but it ends up with the Barnsley fans behind the goal.

Maybe he was aiming for this figure...?

You can't say Barnsley haven't had their chances to make it five.

Tykes midfielder Lloyd Isgrove picks up a loose ball and drives into the box, lays off Ashley Fletcher, who takes a touch but James O'Connor blocks his shot for a corner. That dead ball is easily dealt with.

Walsall are getting a bit desperate. Sam Mantom is about 35 yards out and decides ''You know what, I'll shoot'. It doesn't go well and his scuffed left-foot effort hits a defender and is cleared.

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

Barnsley have marshalled Tom Bradshaw and Jordy Hiwula superbly all night, and do so again when Rico Henry plays a ball into Hiwula, but the Tykes usher him out of play.

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

Little bit of handbags between Barnsley's George Williams and Walsall's Jason Demetriou on the right-hand side. The referee runs over there faster than some of the players have shown all night, but it was a bit of nothing really.

Walsall, with everything to do, get us under way in the second half. Surely they can't do it, can they?

    Ged Scott
BBC Sport at the Banks's Stadium

"We got the early goal that the Walsall fans were hoping for. But sadly, as far as giving this tie the competitive edge it needed, it went in the wrong net.

"Yet, for all that, although they are up against a clearly decent Barnsley side, Walsall have created a string of first-half chances. Some good ones too.

"Walsall interim boss Jon Whitney is a Liverpool fan and summoned up memories of the Miracle of Istanbul before kick-off, in an attempt to rouse his troops.

"But, in truth, even the Saddlers spongeman's already semi-legendary half-time powers of motivation will be tested by trying to turn round a four-goal deficit.

"Anyone seriously expecting Walsall to progress now must have been on the Banks's!

"The Barnsley fans' chant of 'we've put the champagne on ice, were going to Wembley twice' seems the most likely outcome."

Since taking caretaker charge of Barnsley after Lee Johnson's move to Bristol City, Paul Heckingbottom has won 11 of his 19 matches in charge and he is well on his way to his 12th at the Banks's Stadium.

Along with the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win, surely he's done enough to take the job on a full-time basis?

  15. Coming up on Fridaypublished at 20:41

HT: Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (0-4 agg)

Coming up tomorrow, we're back once again for more play-off action - the last of this year's semi-finals.

Millwall host Bradford, having won 3-1 in the away leg in Yorkshire.

The winner of that tie will face the winner of tonight's semi-final at Wembley for a place in the Championship.

It's been a clinical showing from Barnsley so far. They are here to do a job, and they are on their way to a second Wembley final of the season, having already won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy earlier this season.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 19 May 2016

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

Walsall have barely threatened to score in this first half and it seems almost certain as if there'll be a pretty large contingent of people heading down to north London from South Yorkshire on Sunday, 29 May.

Stay with us though, if Walsall do manage to pull of a miracle, you won't want to miss it.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45 mins

    Walsall 0-1 Barnsley (agg 0-4)

This first half is fizzling out now. But Walsall defender Paul Downing brings down Adam Hammill in the middle of the park cynically and finds himself in the book.

We'll have two minutes of added time in the first half.

    Rico HenryImage source, Rex Features

Rico Henry has the better of Josh Scowen on the Barnsley right, and probably has done all night, but again the wing-back's ball into the area can't find one of his team-mates and the danger is gone.
