Kevin Cuthbert is by far the busier keeper as he is called into action again to fend off a long-range shot from Anthony Stokes. Hibs looking much sharper than the hosts but the scores are still level.

An acrobatic effort from Hibs defender Liam Fontaine as he catches an overhead kick on the angle of the six yard box but it lacks power and it's another easy save for Kevin Cuthbert.

Big chance for Hibs as Jason Cummings races onto a lovely pass from John McGinn and he's one-on-one with Kevin Cuthbert. The striker lofts the shot over the keeper - and over the top - by quite a distance.

Do we have a shock on the cards? Stranraer extend their lead through an excellent Willie Gibson free-kick.

Hibs are knocking on the door but they can't find a way in as Liam Fontaine lifts a shot over the top from close range. The big defender should be doing better from there.

Another promising opening for Hibs as Jason Cummings finds space to deliver a low cross but there's not much fizz on the ball and keeper Kevin Cuthbert cuts it out before it can reach Anthony Stokes.

"The play has been so frantic and committed that composure has been crowded out. The balance of the play, though, has seen Raith Rovers enjoy more possession, but Hibs create more half-chances. It is intense, anxious at times and unremitting. The team that is most resourceful in the circumstances is likely to prevail, and such a busy, relentless game will surely not end goalless."

Fraser Fyvie does well to deliver a neat cross into the Rovers box and onto the head of Anthony Stokes but the striker cannot generate much power on the ball and it's a comfortable save for Kevin Cuthbert.

"Not too much finesse on show so far," match commentator Liam McLeod tells BBC Sportsound listeners.

The match is speeding from one end to another at a rapid rate of knots, with Hibs looking the marginally more menacing side, using the flanks to good effect.

Rovers' first attack of note ends with James Craigen firing a sweet half-volley over the top. It didn't miss by much.

The visitors threaten again as John McGinn surges forward and cuts it back for Lewis Stevenson, who drives in a shot - or maybe it was a cross - with Jason Cummings inches away from connecting with it as it flashes wide.

And now the hosts are ahead as Andy Stirling hammers in a shot from 20 yards.
