It would be fair to say that Austria have disappointed at Euro 2016 so far. They came into the tournament off the back of a near immaculate qualifying campaign that saw them claim nine wins from 10 games, including two wins over Russia (which in hindsight maybe isn't that impressive) and a 4-1 hammering of Sweden.

But they have managed a draw and a defeat so far in France. OK, so they may be responsible for pushing Ronaldo over the edge but the opening 2-0 loss to Hungary was a real gut-punch to their hopes.

A defeat to Iceland this evening will add an unintended tag of failure to technical director Willi Ruttensteiner's "Austrian Way".

Cristiano Ronaldo throws reporter's mic into lake

Let's hope Cristiano Ronaldo has calmed down by the time kick-off comes around otherwise he could be adding a red card to his record of no goals from 20 goal attempts and one missed penalty at Euro 2016.

On a walkabout alongside a river with his Portugal team-mates on Wednesday morning, CR7 was approached by a reporter with a microphone. It was like a red rag to a bull.

Ronaldo promptly snatched the microphone from the reporter's grasp and chucked it in the river.

    Classy.

On Saturday, the night of his record 128th appearance for Portugal - passing the tally of Luis Figo - Cristiano Ronaldo failed to break down Austria, with a missed second-half penalty capping his misery.

The captain had 10 shots at goal in all against the Austrians, with only three of them on target. That brought Ronaldo up to 20 goal attempts so far this tournament - which is more than either of their group rivals Hungary (18) or Iceland (12) have managed in their two games to date.

  4. Group F permutationspublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 22 June 2016

Roy Hodgson and his England players will be glued to these games. The runners-up in this group face the Three Lions in Nice on Monday.

Many expected Portugal to top this group - but they are currently third, without a win in two games. If they beat Hungary, they will be guaranteed a top-two finish. Hungary are already through, as they are guaranteed to finish as at least one of the best third-placed sides.

Iceland could top the group if they beat bottom-placed Austria, and will progress if they match or better Portugal's result.

However, goals and disciplinary records could yet come into play here.

  5. Bloodiest day of Euro 2016?published at 16:06 British Summer Time 22 June 2016

Not only could Cristiano Ronaldo be packing his suitcase by the end of the day, Zlatan Ibrahimovic may be saying au revoir to his Sweden career while the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku could be heading back to Belgium.

This could be the bloodiest day of Euro 2016 so far in terms of high-profile scalps.

There are four matches ahead including Italy against the Republic of Ireland and Sweden versus Belgium in Group E.

But first we start in Group F where Iceland, Portugal and Austria are battling to join already-qualified Hungary in the next round.

Day 13 of Euro 2016 and one of the tournament's star attractions are in danger of being sent packing early.

Goalless, frustrated and angry, Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal have yet to deliver in France and have work to do in Lyon.

By the end of today we will know the full last 16 line-up - and England will know who they meet in Nice next Monday.

Will it be Iceland for Roy Hodgson's Three Lions? Or will it be Hungary, Austria...or Ronaldo?
