    Philippe Coutinho

If you did go early for your cuppa, you've missed a wonderful free-kick equaliser from Philippe Coutinho. The Liverpool playmaker was held by Rob Holding, and responded by floating a 25-yarder over the wall and into the corner. Sweet for Jurgen Klopp.

  6. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool are still attacking with a degree of promise as the first half draws to a close. Roberto Firmino cuts back from the left for Georginio Wijnaldum arriving late on the edge of the penalty area, but the shot is driven straight at Petr Cech.

It would be fair to say there has been a lot of reaction to Moreno's performance so far....

I am reminded here of the football phone-ins on BBC Radio Manchester in the mid-to-late 1990s, when irate Manchester City supporters would regularly ring in after yet another demoralising defeat, insisting that they could play better than whichever hapless XI had been put out that week. Jimmy Wagg, the presenter, always had a job trying to calm them down...

Chelsea Warrior: It happened last season, and it continues this season: Alberto Moreno cannot defend to save his life

lfcway: New season, new signings, but same old Moreno! Gives away Pen, mignolet saves him, then goes missing again!*sigh* #LFC, external#ARSLIV, external

Roberto Firmino tried to respond immediately for Liverpool with a shot that rolls across goal and wide. Meanwhile, the criticism of Moreno continues to flood in.

It was horrendous full-back play from Moreno. You are supposed to be tucking in but he left Walcott in acres of space. I'm astounded by his position. He was about 15 yards in front of Walcott.

  13. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 1-0 Liverpoolpublished at 30 mins

    Theo Walcott

Liverpool's reprieve, officially, lasted for 68 seconds. Francis Coquelin wins the ball from Adam Lallana, and Alex Iwobi finds space to play a lovely ball through for Theo Walcott down the right. Alberto Moreno is nowhere to be seen, and the Arsenal man slots a shot across Simon Mignolet and into the far corner. Great response from Walcott, but Liverpool's defending was horrendous.

  14. 'Wild from Moreno'published at 16:30 British Summer Time 14 August 2016

    Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender at the Emirates Stadium for BBC Radio 5 live

He touched the ball first but there was no need to go to ground. It was wild from Moreno.

That was brilliant save from Mignolet for the penalty though. Walcott almost telegraphed the shot. It was brilliant spring from Mignolet.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 29 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

Not the greatest penalty from Walcott in truth, but Simon Mignolet gets across to his right and saves well. Moreno is a lucky, lucky man.

    Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

    Phil Neville

Adam Lallana won the ball, but it's the way he slid in slightly recklessly on Aaron Ramsey.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 26 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

No argument here. Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana goes in late on Aaron Ramsey about 15 years inside Arsenal's half, and is the first man booked. Mistimed rather than malicious from Lallana, but a definite yellow.

  20. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Liverpool

Adam Lallana plays a pass right to Roberto Firmino, whose driven cross-shot is deflected away by Calum Chambers. Arsenal then concede a free-kick, and have to do a fair bit of defending to clear it. So far, though, their mix-and-match back line is holding up well
