    Dele Alli

"Come on kids, we're off." Mums and dads in the Stoke stands decide to beat the car park rush.

Stoke have a couple of corners - and within seconds they are 3-0 down. Another swift corner, a composed finish from Dele Alli and it is game over.

Kyle Walker pops up on the right flank, squares to Alli and the England midfielder slots in from eight yards.

    Son Heung-min

Wow. Wasn't there some chat Spurs wanted to sell Son Heung-min in the transfer window? If that was true then they will be glad they haven't! The South Korea forward sweeps in a wonderful second goal, clinically finishing another swift Spurs move. Christin Eriksen was again the architect, nipping in ahead of Glenn Whelan before picking out Son.

    *Mark Hughes update*

The Stoke boss, up in the stands after his first-half sending off, gives up on the headset. Instead he's using his mobile phone to communicate with his bench. Just set up a WhatsApp group, Sparky. Hope he has Bojan Krkic saved in his spellcheck...

    Stoke 0-1 Tottenham

Spurs go close to doubling their lead. A sublime touch from Christian Eriksen, deftly cushioning a long diag, helps give him a sight of the Stoke goal. A low drive from 20 yards tries to catch out Shay Given at his near post, but the veteran Stoke keeper is too old for that game. Good save.

Nothing yet for Mark Hughes - or Mauricio Pochettino - to discuss in the opening stages of this second half. Midfield battle at the moment.

Our cameraman has spotted Hughesy in the stand. He's trying to get to grips with a headset to talk to the Stoke bench. Uh oh, it's not working. Don't make him even angrier...

Spurs started this game edgily with Stoke putting them under pressure.

But Tottenham have slowly come into this game and this goal could kick-start them into going on a roll.

    Stoke 0-1 Tottenham

There was so little between these two sides in that half you could barely squeeze a cigarette paper between them.

Son Heung-min's brilliant finish separates them. But arguably the best bit of the first 45 minutes was Stoke manager Mark Hughes losing the plot and getting sent off.

He was angrier than a man who has just found out he's having gammon and veg instead of fish and chips for his Friday tea.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Stoke 0-1 Tottenham

Stoke's new striker Wilfried Bony has been quiet in the last half an hour of his debut. But here he is... The Ivorian has a pop from the edge of the Spurs box, deflecting off a dark blue shirt for a corner. Ah, but we haven't got time for a corner. Referee Anthony Taylor endearing himself to the home crowd even more there...
