Spurs go close to doubling their lead. A sublime touch from Christian Eriksen, deftly cushioning a long diag, helps give him a sight of the Stoke goal. A low drive from 20 yards tries to catch out Shay Given at his near post, but the veteran Stoke keeper is too old for that game. Good save.

Nothing yet for Mark Hughes - or Mauricio Pochettino - to discuss in the opening stages of this second half. Midfield battle at the moment.

Spurs started this game edgily with Stoke putting them under pressure.

But Tottenham have slowly come into this game and this goal could kick-start them into going on a roll.

There was so little between these two sides in that half you could barely squeeze a cigarette paper between them. 

Son Heung-min's brilliant finish separates them. But arguably the best bit of the first 45 minutes was Stoke manager Mark Hughes losing the plot and getting sent off.

He was angrier than a man who has just found out he's having gammon and veg instead of fish and chips for his Friday tea.
