Hull City

Hull City caretaker boss Mike Phelan: "We suffered in the last minute in the last game (letting in a late goal against Manchester United). 

"Credit to us as we kept going. The players did what we asked of them today." 

On being appointed on a full-time basis, he added: "I'm there in the dug-out. I'm kicking every ball with the players and it is a joy."

Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "I was pleased with our performance. We started a bit edgy but built into the game.

"It's the way it goes. It is the reality of football (letting in a late goal). It was a game of few chances and cagey. 

"He (Steven Defour) was as cheap as chips - have you not seen what is happening in the Premier League? He is a fine player."

Manchester City played United off the park, though a clanger from Claudio Bravo let the Red Devils back into it. And should Bravo also have conceded a penalty? I think the keeper was lucky.

Callum Wilson scored his first Premier League goal since September 19 2015 (vs Sunderland).

Despite not scoring in almost one year, Wilson is still the Cherries’ second highest goalscorer in the Premier League (6, behind Josh King’s 7).

The Gunners have already won more Premier League penalties in 2016-17 (3) than they did in the whole of 2015-16 (2).

Laurent Koscielny became the fifth Arsenal player to score a Premier League goal on their birthday (after Paul Merson, Robert Pires, Yossi Benayoun and Santi Cazorla).

Stoke manager Mark Hughes on Sports Report details being sent off by referee Anthony Taylor: "I reacted to what I thought were a couple of poor decisions that went against us. I reacted wrongly and got sent off, but the bloke who sent me off didn't know where I should go! So I just needed a little help leaving. Hey-ho... 

"I think one of my problems was that I had left my technical area. I didn't realise I had done. It's another directive to referees - it's to do with how the Premier League is perceived globally. But we also hear how people like to see their managers showing passion. But you have to show control and I didn't."

Arsenal

A buoyant Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger: "It is a relief, because we missed many chances and they had one or two opportunities having thrown everything forward.

"Honestly, everyone is telling me it was a penalty, but I've not yet seen it again. 

"There was a long delay before Santi Cazorla took the penalty - he did very well to score because he felt a heavy mental weight for the team. He played very well, because he helped us get back into the game after we started not fluent and not pacey. 

"I also give Laurent Koscielny a lot of credit - he came back from Russia on Thursday and today he scored when we were 1-0 down. Fantastic."

Arsenal

Arsenal penalty taker Santi Cazorla: "I had a lot of time to think about where to shoot my penalty, but I kept calm. I thought if I shot down the middle the keeper might go to one side. I have no idea if it was a foul."

Stoke manager Mark Hughes: "The second half wasn't the level we needed to get to. We started brightly with good intent but the goal knocked us back on our heels. At half time we were very positive but we need to be better when we are chasing games.

"The sending off, that's my fault. I came out of my technical area, I wasn't happy, I felt the officials missed two decisions. I was diappointed but I am disappointed with my reaction. It hasn't been a great day but we can pick ourselves up. 

"My dismissal made no difference to our performance in the second half. We need to be better.

"Next week we play Sunday and maybe that extra day will help."

West Brom manager Tony Pulis has been talking about striker Saido Berahino: "For over a season Saido has been wrapped up in where he’s going and he’s playing in the top league in the world. You have to be mentally prepared, you can’t just switch it on and off and he needs to understand that. 

"In the 20 months I’ve been here he was a talisman for the first six months but then we’ve lost him for the last year. It’s been difficult. 

"It’s been an interesting club to manage for me, the way it’s run is different, but also dealing with a player that has for two thirds of that period not doing really what he should be has been difficult."

We are still waiting for Mark Hughes to appear in front of the cameras after his earlier sending-off. Fuming...

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka: "I think it was a very good game and it was difficult because we have lost when we were in a good position. When you lose a game through mistakes it is difficult, but we have to think about the future and learn. We have to keep going.

"All of us have learned we can't drop our intensity in the Premier League, we have to play always in the same style. We had a lot of chances in the second half and if we had played the first half the same way we would have won the game.

"We have to keep going. The club has done an amazing job building this squad, I am really pleased with them. We can't drive ourselves crazy because we are in a good position."
