Jack Wilshere has touched the ball 15 times in the first half of his first start for Bournemouth.

Only Jordon Ibe (13) of his team-mates has touched it less.

But Wilshere has been successful with all five of his passes in the first period.

So what do Bournemouth do? Sitting back and hoping to catch City on the counter hasn't worked. What about bringing on striker Callum Wilson and going for it?

A fluctuating first-half for two England players at the Etihad.

In a sensational team performance from Manchester City, Raheem Sterling has been outstanding.

Pep Guardiola's arrival has transformed the winger, who looked a shadow of the player he had been at Liverpool when he joined City for £49m last season.

Sterling's dribbling skills have caused Bournemouth no end of bother this afternoon.

In contrast, Jack Wilshere was bypassed completely on only his second Premier League start in 18 months.

Wilshere has not been able to stem the flow of City attacks in a one-sided game and looks destined to finish on the losing side.

It has been a magnificent first half from City. The only negative is they have looked a little shaky defensively at times.

This has been a dominant display from Manchester City and they go in with a comfortable lead at the break. They could have had more as they have treated their fans to some awesome football so far.

Some of the football from City has been scintillating. The accuracy, crispness of their passing. This could be eight games on the bounce and you can see why.

It is a team full of confidence and top players.

They will concede goals but they will score in abundance, Manchester City.

This really is quality stuff from City. They work another eye-catching move which puts Raheem Sterling in on goal and his shot is saved by keeper Artur Boruc.

We have a Bournemouth chance. Yes, you read write, City allow Bournemouth to have the ball long enough to create a rare opening. Jordon Ibe slides a ball into the run of Josh King and, despite keeper Claudio Bravo unconvincingly coming out to smother the ball, he manages to play the ball across the box. Junior Stanislas thinks he might have a tap-in but Bacary Sagna gets in a vital tackle.

Pep Guardiola said on Friday he was never truly satisfied, no matter how well his team plays.

We have just seen an example of it there.

Manchester City scored a fabulous goal, with four passes leading to Kelechi Iheanacho doubling their lead.

Immediately, Guardiola was calling Kevin de Bruyne over for some detailed instructions as the rest of his team-mates celebrated.

If this is what happens when City don't quite get it right, I wouldn't want to be the manager of the team trying to stop them when they do.

Loudly Curious: Iheanacho on fire. That's what happens when you play your young superstars. Love him!

Jonny Brook: De Bruyne, as a United fan I want to rant about how overrated he is, but as a logical human being I can't, the lads pure class!

Manchester City have threats from all angles, as the graphic above shows.

Nolito, Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are all offering options for the current Premier League leaders - not to mention Kelechi Iheanacho up front, of course.

And Sterling - revitalised under Sgt Pep - almost makes it three. City pick open Bournemouth with the ease of a seasoned thief undoing a cheap lock. But the England international curls straight at Artur Boruc from a narrow angle.

Not only have Manchester City not been beaten this season, they have not even been behind.

The latest they have had to wait for an opening goal is 27 minutes, at Stoke on 20 August.

Bournemouth had got just over halfway towards that time at Etihad Stadium, only for De Bruyne's 15th-minute free-kick to break their resistance. The Belgian opened the scoring at exactly the same point of last Saturday's Manchester derby.

A tall task had become even more difficult after Kelechi Iheanacho's finish.

City are frightening, scintillating going forward.

Brilliant play by Sterling. He was really unselfish and Iheanacho puts it in the goal.

There are worries in the defence but in attack, they are wonderful going forward.
