  1. goal

GOAL - Man City 2-0 Bournemouthpublished at 24 mins

    Kelechi Iheanacho

What a counter-attack. A header clear at the back for City quickly turns into a City attack which ends with Kevin de Bruyne sliding a pass through to Raheem Sterling, who squares for Kelechi Iheanacho to sidefoot in. Lethal from City and Bournemouth are probably spinning at the speed of that move.

Mark Taylor: At times it seems Bournemouth have 12 men as the refs top is totally the wrong choice of colour. Shades of MUFC grey?

You're not the only one struggling Mark...

    Man City 1-0 Bournemouth

Former West Brom striker on Final Score

That goal was not lucky - Kevin de Bruyne meant that. Everybody in the wall jumps and he just rolls it underneath. That's a warning to walls. Make him do something special. He doesn't hit it hard and almost apologises it's gone in the net.

    Man City 1-0 Bournemouth

It could and maybe should've been a second for City. The Cherries again give the ball away cheaply and Kevin de Bruyne sets up Nolito for a low shot which is saved by Artur Boruc. This could be a long afternoon for Bournemouth.

It looked like it went through the Bournemouth wall, their players are looking at each other, pointing fingers.

Artur Boruc was unsighted but Kevin de Bruyne takes the credit.

  6. goal

GOAL - Man City 1-0 Bournemouthpublished at 15 mins

    Kevin de Bruyne

Jack Wilshere clumsily shoves Nolito off the ball and he concedes a free-kick in a dangerous position just outside the area. Kevin de Bruyne steps up to take it and weighs up his options before sending an effort under the wall and past keeper Artur Boruc.

I don't think that is not the kind of impact Wilshere was hoping to make.

Pep Guardiola's ideal goalkeeper would be a midfielder who would be decent if you threw him a pair of gloves. He doesn't want a keeper really.

Josh King is rapid. The Bournemouth forward races past Nicolas Otamendi but the City centre-back recovers enough to get in a tackle and concede a corner. Stanislas delivers the set piece to the near post again and keeper Claudio Bravo gets in a good punch to clear the danger.

Bournemouth cannot afford to give possession away in their own third.

Cook gave the ball away sloppily and you can't do that against a team who break so quickly.

The visitors give away possession and Kelechi Iheanacho has a pop at goal from the edge of the area but Steve Cook blocks his strike.

As much as we heap praise on City they do take the odd risk, pushing forwards forward.

If teams can break through that initial press then they are away.

    Man City 0-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth win the first corner of the match but Junior Stanislas can only send a poor delivery to the near post and City easily clear.

Guardiola is a manager who doesn't like to rest on his laurels and I am looking forward to seeing them press the ball, win it back quickly and their movement.

City are not doing a lot wrong at the minute.

Is Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho the special one? Not according to the Old Trafford club's former midfielder Roy Keane., external

Keane believes the honour of that title should go to Mourinho's rival Pep Guardiola, who came out on top between the pair when his Manchester City side beat Manchester United in their derby last Saturday.

Asked if he had any comment on Keane's view, Guardiola said: "Nothing."

  20. 'He's stamped his authority on them'published at 14:54 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

Man City v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe on Manchester City: "I think they've got outstanding players and they've got a manager who, in my opinion, is right at the very top.

"I think the biggest compliment I can give him is the impact he's had on that team so early - you can see when they play he's stamped his authority on them.

"When I watch them play, I enjoy it - and it's rare for me to say that when I watch an opponent play. They've been very impressive."
