The former Essex schoolteacher of West Ham, Chelsea and England footballer Frank Lampard has spoken of the midfielder's early development as a player.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Chris Bouckley, former football master at the fee-paying Brentwood School which Lampard attended, said: "When he was eight or nine he was a good player, but did not stand out.

"He always gave 110%."
