  1. Dispirited and haunted?published at 10:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

After back-to-back defeats Arsenal must be dispirited, perhaps haunted by Christmases past when being part of a title race was a given.

It should have been so different - the games at Everton and Manchester City were so firmly in Arsenal's control and so frivolously surrendered.

Some fans are now simply craving their future Christmases to be spent without the man they still feel displays a too Scrooge-like tendency to penny-pinch.

  2. Conte's first Christmaspublished at 10:43 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will see his team play Bournemouth later on Boxing Day as he experiences his first busy football Christmas.

He was joined by his wife and daughter for a brief celebration - and was delighted that his work commitments ensured he did not have to do any Christmas shopping.

"In this period, we're used to going on holiday for a week," he said.

"You have to celebrate Christmas with the family. It's not important where you stay, but it's important to stay together with your family.

"I don't like to buy gifts. I don't like this. My wife does this. She is a fantastic person. I don't like going to the shops. My wife spends the right money, not a lot of money."

I wonder how much the right amount of money is for a Premier League manager?..

You may remember the Cherries won this fixture last season thanks to a late goal.

They also put four past Liverpool the last time I saw them play, but away from home they've only managed to win one of the past 10.

The best news for Bournemouth fans is that Chelsea will be without two key players in Diego Costa and N'Golo Kante.

More from Arsene Wenger on the criticism aimed at Mesut Ozil in the wake of the defeat by Manchester City.

"I have a debrief with the players themselves, I do not listen to all the criticism we got after the game, it is normal to get that, but Mesut Ozil is a big player and the big players always respond on the pitch," said Wenger.

"I don't give him any leeway when the team does not have possession. He has to do his job and normally he does it well. His main strength is on the ball and I think in City he suffered more than most because we did not have enough of the ball.

"At City we had a deficit of winning the ball back in the middle third."
