    Celtic 0-0 Leicester

"Stand up, for the champions!" is the chant at Celtic Park and everyone is up, including a 3,000 strong away end. Definitely one to tick off the list, Celtic away. There's a few of those coming up for Leicester fans and their families this season.

"I'm away next week by the way."

    "With work?"

    "Nope. BATE Borisov away."

  3. CLOSE!published at 11 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Leicester

Leicester should be ahead! Riyad Mahrez pops up in that pocket behind the strikers, a lovely run sees him tee up Marc Albrighton on the overlap, Celtic's back three is overwhelmed. Albrighton's cross is a peach and Leonardo Ulloa screws it wide!

    Chance.

Brendan Rodgers is out in his technical area, doing some sort of magician's hand signals to his team. I think that means 'keep the ball.'

    Or maybe 'move the ball.'

    Celtic 0-0 Leicester

A good spell of Celtic pressure breaks down and they are almost caught short. Scott Brown has to fill in and clear his lines, and from the corner Wes Morgan has a header blocked.

Celtic need Kolo Toure in the building, that much is clear from these early stages.

    Celtic 0-0 Leicester

Celtic captain Scott Brown is sloppy when facing his own goal and Marc Albrighton steams in to pick his pocket on the left wing. He looks up and finds Danny Drinkwater arriving at the edge of the area, he hits a shot well - but straight into the midriff of a nearby Celtic shirt.

    Celtic 0-0 Leicester

Looks like Demarai Gray - more of a winger by trade - is playing right up front in the Jamie Vardy role for Leicester.

The top tier of Celtic Park is empty - think Elland Road. Still a decent number in though.

Win the league by at least 20 points! Over to you Brendan.

What qualifies for success .....is to see a manager building a squad of players committed to playing in an entertaining, attacking, cohesive manner... But most of all winning the league (by at least 20 points) Group stages champions league & clean sweep in the old firm clashes ... In Brendan we trust .............

A reminder of how the two teams line up this evening. Three new faces in the Leicester side. WIll Riyad Mahrez be there come the end of August?

Both teams are permitted to make 11 changes this evening - and I'm sure they probably will. All set?

  14. 'Preparation is key'published at 17:28 British Summer Time 23 July 2016

    Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri

"Today's game is a fantastic test. Celtic have already played Champions League games and friendlies [this summer].

"Celtic will put us under pressure and we have to come back at them like we did last season [in the Premier League].

"I am very very happy with the challenge. Preparation is important. I want to use plenty of players today because they have been working very hard in pre-season, so I will make some changes during the game.

"Pre-season has been very different this year. We now start playing international teams and it is very important to get the experience."

Emile Heskey has just compared Leicester's new midfielder Nampalys Mendy to Claude Makelele. Can he replace N'Golo Kante? An impossible job, surely.

    We shall see...

Leicester are wearing all red this evening. Red!

It looks a very sparse crowd in Glasgow at the moment. Don't forget that Celtic are in the middle of Champions League qualifiers.

    Your signings of the summer

Heaven de Bruyne: Nolito, so cheap and he literally dragged Celta Vigo in previous seasons with an average squad!

Adam Pringle: Rafa Benitez at the Toon...they've kept him..in the Championship!!!!

Graeme Falconer: signing of the summer Koeman for Everton - a bargain

    Celtic v Leicester (17:30 BST)

A reminder if you needed it that Leicester captain Wes Morgan has signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until June 2019.

The 32-year-old defender played every minute in the league last season as the Foxes won the Premier League title.

Morgan joined Leicester from Nottingham Forest in January 2012 and has made 182 league appearances for the club.

Morgan in the Champions League? You bet.

    Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers

"It's an interesting pre-season because you can't rest anyone. We don't want to pick up any injuries.

"Today is a good test. It is a really good fitness game for us."

Rodgers does not see today's game as a gauge of where Celtic are at the moment.

"Leicester wont be at their top end of their fitness. Neither are we but we are slightly ahead of them.

"Leicester were magnificent last season and Celtic are the Scottish champions so it will be a good game."
