Jim Steel: "What qualifies as success for Brendan Rodgers this season?" Not being sacked before Christmas, I imagine.

Ray Devlin: Success for Brendan Rodgers means CL group stage and a convincing league title. Nothing less

    Celtic v Leicester (17:30 BST)

Leicester ended the season hoping to hold on to their big three. Vardy, Mahrez, Kante.

So far it's two out of three and as Meat Loaf will tell you, that ain't bad.

Jamie Vardy shunned a move to Arsenal during the Euros and Riyad Mahrez continues to be linked here, there and everywhere.

But it was N'Golo Kante who was the first to jump ship. He's gone to Chelsea for £30m and left a two-player-sized hole in midfield.

    How crucial could that be?

Kolo Toure is strolling down the touchline at Celtic Park. We haven't had any official confirmation that he's a Celtic player yet but it looks nailed down.

  4. Walsh on his waypublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 23 July 2016

    Celtic v Leicester (17:30 BST)

It's probably the busiest, craziest, most significant pre-season at Leicester City. And they haven't had it all their own way so far.

Everton appointed Leicester's joint assistant manager and head of recruitment Steve Walsh as their new director of football this week.

The 51-year-old had only signed a new contract with the Premier League champions in May.

Former PE teacher and Chelsea scout Walsh will work with new Toffees manager Ronald Koeman, who replaced Roberto Martinez last month.

"It feels very much like a new era at Everton," said Walsh.

He becomes Leicester's second key departure of the summer after midfielder N'Golo Kante joined Chelsea for £30m.

Walsh has been credited with helping discover bargain signings such as winger Riyad Mahrez and Kante for the Foxes, who last season became top-flight champions for the first time in their 132-year history.

Who are your signings of the summer?

Simon Gamble: Mandanda to Palace - top quality French keeper for cheap

Kev: Where's Gundogan? Even Scholes said he was the signing of the summer. Is there a rule everyone Utd sign has to be included?

There are no rules Kev. Let's see your XIs...

  7. What is the International Champions Cup?published at 17:01 British Summer Time 23 July 2016

    Celtic v Leicester (17:30 BST)

An excellent, and thoroughly justified question.

It's a load of friendlies grouped together, spread across the world. This summer 17 teams are involved, including Leicester and of course Celtic.

Manchester United have already been whacked by Borussia Dortmund - in China - and Tottenham play Juventus next week. In Melbourne.

Man City, Barca, PSG, Real - pretty much all the big boys are playing some part.

For our friends in the United States - I presume - there are to be no draws in the International Champions Cup.

If it's level after 90 minutes we go to penalties...

Celtic will have "no excuses" if they fail to overcome Kazakhstan side Astana in their Champions League qualifier on Wednesday, says assistant boss Chris Davies.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has highlighted the lengthy flight, different time zone, high temperatures and plastic pitch awaiting them in the first leg.

But Davies insists a "less than ideal" draw will not hamper their prospects.

"There are no excuses for us. We know we are a big team and have got to go there and do a big job," he said.

"Regardless of where it is, we are looking forward to it. No doubt Astana are a good team, they have got some quality.

"They were in the Champions League [group stages] last season, and they got points off Atletico Madrid, Benfica and Galatasaray so we know the challenge.

"But we are confident we can go there, do a job and bring them home and finish the job here."

    Summer signings

You feel there's an awful lot of money about to be spent lining the pockets of the rich and agents in the next four weeks.

Some of the Premier League's big boys are yet to open the chequebook and fire up the fax but there's a formidable amount of business which has already been done.

    Signings

Here is a very hastily assembled side of new Premier League signings which I'm keen to see. But I'm sure you can come up with far better suggestions for the signings of the season so far.

Fire away. Send me your teams or particular highlights to #bbcfootball. Give us your best reasons too.

Celtic should complete the signing of former Liverpool defender Kolo Toure today.

The 35-year-old worked under Brendan Rodgers at Anfield and comes in to provide much needed defensive cover.

If he passes a medical, he will be available for Wednesday's Champions League qualifier against FC Astana.

Toure, who played 26 times for Liverpool last season, would become Celtic's second summer signing after the arrival of Moussa Dembele.

    A good move?

It's been a bit quieter on the transfer front for Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers has managed one name through the doors so far - Fulham forward Moussa Dembele.

He scored a lot of goals in the Championship. Can he cut it in Glasgow?

Looks like Fabio Borini. Hopefully better in nets

Leicester have made five new signings so far since winning the Premier League. They do have a Champions League campaign to get ready for of course.

First up is Germany international goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler. He has come in from Hannover 96 and will presumably act as (very good) cover for Kasper Schmeichel.

Spanish defender Luis Hernandez has joined on a free transfer from Sporting Gijon, and Spanish striker Raul Uche has also signed on. Nope, me neither.

Ahmed Musa. Faster than a very fast thing

The big money has gone on French midfielder Nampalys Mendy from Nice, a replacement for N'Golo Kante, if there is such a thing, and winger Ahmed Musa.

Musa cost a club-record £16m while Mendy is said to have been about £14m.

    Celtic v Leicester (17:30 BST)

Celtic make just three changes from the side which won in Champions League action in midweek, and three of Leicester's new signings start. Plus Riyad Mahrez.

Celtic: Gordon; Janko, Lustig, O’Connell; Roberts, McGregor, Brown, Armstrong, Izaguirre; Griffiths, Dembele

Leicester: Zieler, Amartey, Hernandez, Morgan, Chilwell, Mahrez, Mendy, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Ulloa, Gray

  15. Busy week for Brendanpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 23 July 2016

    Celtic v Leicester (17:30 BST)

Brendan Rodgers will be keen to put on a show this evening against the champions of England but the fact is that he has much bigger fish to fry.

Celtic travel to Kazakhstan on Monday to face Astana in the Champions League qualifiers. As Brendan himself quipped, that's "a six-hour flight, five-hour time difference, 35C+, a plastic pitch with no water..."

So presumably all guns will be blazing for that one. So how does he approach this game?

    Yes, this did actually happen...

Two months ago Leicester City won the English title for the first time in their 132-year history.

In a manic few weeks since then they have seen their main striker reject a £30m move to Arsenal and sign a new deal, their key midfielder up sticks to join Chelsea and their silky winger linked with Arsenal and even Barcelona.

Their captain has signed a new deal and they've added a few new faces too. So far, so pretty good?

They start the Premier League season against managerless Hull in three weeks' time and before then they face Celtic, Paris St-Germain, Barcelona and Manchester United in the Community Shield.

Last pre-season they played Lincoln, Mansfield, Burton, Rotherham and Birmingham.

    It's been quite the year...
