Andy Halliday races clear in the inside right channel and drills the ball across the penalty area. It looks like a certain third goal for Martyn Waghorn as he arrives at the back post but the striker lacks conviction and keeper Cammy Belford and a defender combine to snuff out the danger.

    HT: Rangers 2-0 Stranraer

Former Rangers midfielder Derek Ferguson on Radio Scotland: "Stranraer may be a part-time team but [manager] Brian Reid will be absolutely raging. They are better than that but they are not showing enough desire or effort. I think you'll see a reaction in the second half.  Hopefully they will make it a bit more competitive. It is so one-sided, but that is down to players not giving 100%."

Joey Barton has been neat and tidy, keeping the ball ticking along with simple passes, but he's not been under any kind of pressure. Niko Kranjcar, the other big name summer arrival at Ibrox, has been pretty quiet though.

Well he is going to learn absolutely nothing tonight because the back four are completely untested."

Lovely work from Rangers skipper Lee Wallace, who takes a high ball out of the sky with his chest and leaves his man for dead to get into the box. His cut-back from the byline is cleared by a lunging defender, with a shortage of blue shirts in the danger zone.

  20. goal

    Martyn Waghorn

Not the best penalty from Martyn Waghorn but he'll take the goal. It's not hit with much pace and it's a good height for the keeper but the ball bounces down out of the arms of Cammy Belford and into the roof of the net.
