Burton wing back Lucas Akins told Sky Sports: "Obviously it is fantastic and it's a local derby where we're no longer just playing them in pre-season friendlies.

"It shows a lot of character from the lads as we had a disappointing result in midweek and we bounced back.

"We've got a lot in that dressing room, so hopefully we can to keep surprising people."

Derby with all the possession in the closing stages, with Burton looking to break whenever they get hold of the ball.

They throw numbers forward looking for a second goal, but Tom Naylor is muscled off the ball inside the Rams area.

It shows how much this game means to those in Burton-upon-Trent that more turned out tonight than to watch Liverpool.

Marcus Harness' cross comes to nothing for the hosts.

Remember, Derby boss Nigel Pearson has already made his three substitutions so there would need to be a tactical shape change to possibly change the game.

I would like to tell you about the chances being created and the joyous football on show, I really would. But I cannot. Because this has been a hard watch over the past few minutes.

Instead, I'll tell you it is an intriguing tactical battle from the managers.

Another sight of goal from Abdoul Camara. Again he checks onto his left foot, but he is more central than right this time when he strikes the ball, but his effort is only curled into the midriff of Jon McLaughlin.
