    Burton 1-0 Derby

Darren Bent races into the six-yard box and very nearly glances and effort into the back post... but as the ball goes wide, he is flagged offside.

Good movement from Bent who has looked busy up top with James Wilson.

Under a fully darkened sky now, the atmosphere just goes up a few notches.

All the noise coming from the home fans who are enjoying this first ever derby game against Derby.

Not too much happening on the pitch. I'll agree with Joe (61 mins) that it is a scrap.

"It's a good old fashioned, 100mph English football scrap at the moment."

Moments later, Craig Byson's cross is palmed away into the area by Jon McLaughlin and Burton hack it away.

After another passage of play, James Wilson turns sharply away from his first defender but is then crowded out.

First half sight of goal for Burton after the break.

Lucas Akins cushions a header into the path of Marcus Harness who is unable to get over the bouncing ball when he strikes and it has no pace on the ball.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 56 mins

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Nigel Pearson shows his hand early. All three substitutes now played.

Manchester United loanee James Wilson comes on for his debut alongside Darren Bent. They replace Chris Martin and Jacob Butterfield.

After just one training session at Burton, on loan Will Miller's night is done with Marcus Harness replacing him.

As much as I said Derby struggled to get going in the first-half, the Brewers have not seen much of the ball in the second.

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Abdoul Camara has done more in five minutes into his introduction than Tom Ince did in 45.

He cuts in from the right on his left foot and his shot is deflected by Lloyd Dyer - it looks for a second as if it might loop into the net but Jon McLaughlin scrambles across the goal to gather the ball.

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Abdoul Camara's hopeful shot ricochets up into the six-yard area causing momentary panic.

After Will Miller's challenge on Marcus Olsson causes a free-kick on the edge of the box on the left, Jacob Butterfield's strike goes straight into the wall.

So, Derby fans what do you make of that substitution?

Tom Ince did not do a lot in fairness. But neither did anyone in a white shirt, really.

Cyrus Christie's driving run and cross comes to nothing for the Rams.

Well believe it Burton fans. You are leading and you have been the better team.

Abdoul Camara has come on for Derby - he replaces Tom Ince.

Away from the pitch, one of the many fans that will be in attendance tonight is Ed Wood, a Derby County supporter originally from Quarndon.

He is trying to reclaim the record for seeing a league match at every English football league ground in the fewest days - and has taken four months off work to try to win it back.

Mr Wood held the record more than 20 years ago.

Burton's Jackson IrvineImage source, Rex Features

Three big toots of the referee's whistle and that is half-time.

Burton full value for their lead as they have looked the team who have wanted, and tried, to score.

Jackson Irvine has now scored in his last three Championship games and the Australian is proving to be a worthy investment from the summer.

It has not been a free-flowing affair from either side, but you have to credit the way Burton have gone about their business.

We have another one minute of injury time before half-time.

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Tom Ince of Derby County, is challenged by Burton's defendersImage source, Rex Features

First chance we have seen Tom Ince run at the Burton defence and he sends them backwards and lays a beautiful pass into Chris Martin, who drops his shoulder and then strikes with his left.

A defender blocks the goalward shot and Martin appeals for handball. Improvement that for Derby.

  20. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Burton 1-0 Derby

A couple of Derby corners come to nothing.

Jacob Butterfield regathers after the second one, and absolutely smashes a cross in that Richard Keogh is unable to direct goalwards. In fact, it came at him so hard it goes out for a throw.
