I'll leave you with Adam Williams' match report as QPR started the Championship campaign with a comfortable home success over Leeds United.

I'm confident Garry Monk didn't envisage such a chastening start to the season.

A 3-0 loss at QPR was not the ideal start to his reign as Leeds head coach, and he won't tolerate many more performances like that, I'm sure.

QPR midfielder Tjaronn Chery told Sky Sports: "It's really important to win the first game.

"We have lots of the same players from last season and some good new players too. We have a good team."

QPR start the season with a routine 3-0 win over Leeds United, and hand new head coach Garry Monk a defeat from his first match in charge.

The home side were solid enough and were good value for their victory, but Leeds were the masters of their own downfall too.

They made a complete mess of clearing a corner for QPR's first, and then the second goal came from the penalty spot after a clumsy challenge in the box by Ronaldo Vieira. A late third added gloss to the scoreline.

Massimo Cellino won't be happy with what he's seen from Leeds United today. It's been a low-key opening to Garry Monk's tenure as head coach.

Wow, a big chance missed by Leeds.

Marcus Antonsson beats the offside trap and goalkeeper Alex Smithies comes flying off his line. Twenty yards out, Antonsson drags his shot wide.

One feels that was Leeds' chance to get back into this Championship game.

It's been a fairly comfortable day for QPR. They've led from a very early stage, and have held Leeds at arms' length for much of the contest.

It's looking like a job well done by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's men.

Rob Green won't fancy watching QPR's opening goal again too often.

The Leeds goalkeeper, who left Rangers at the end of last season, flapped at a high ball and punched it straight onto his captain Sol Bamba, off whom it nestled in the back of the net.

Not the most auspicious of returns to Loftus Road for the ex-England man, and his new side have 20 minutes to find an equaliser.

Nasser El Khayati comes on for QPR, replacing teenage winger Olamide Shodipo.

Leeds' momentum has slowed slightly following a promising start to the second half.

Matt Cooper: Leeds very predictable. Lump the ball forward and hope for the best. Will be a long old season for them. QPR very comfortable.

Kyle Seedhouse: Come on Leeds get it together, shoddy defending = a bad season! Started the second half well though, get a goal in the next 10 minutes or so and we could go on to win it.

Good play from Kemar Roofe, who has had a quiet debut so far for Leeds.

The former Oxford man robs Nedum Onuoha of the ball on halfway and charges into the QPR box, where he's met by a flurry of QPR defenders. Maybe that's the spark he needs.

Matt Grimes is off, replaced by new signing Marcus Antonsson. Some support for Leeds striker Chris Wood up top for the visitors.

Much better from visitors Leeds in the second period at Loftus Road. They've had a lot of the ball in the QPR half, without testing goalkeeper Alex Smithies.

Unsurprisingly, Rangers replace the yellow-carded Ben Gladwin with Jordan Cousins, who joined the club from Charlton in the summer and makes his debut here.

Ben Gladwin has to be careful. Booked in the first half, the QPR midfielder goes straight through Ronaldo Vieira and concedes a foul.

He's walking an ever-thinning tightrope.
