It will be interesting to see how Alfie Mawson fares on his Swansea City debut.

The big centre-back, signed from Barnsley this summer, will have his hands full with Watford's physically imposing striker partnership of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo.

So far, however, the 22-year-old has looked comfortable - calm in possession and firm in his challenges.

Some good front-man play from Troy Deeney, who with his back to goal cushions a well-weighted header down into the path of Odion Ighalo.

But the ball bounces up off the knee of Ighalo 25 yards from goal to leave Deeney looking less than impressed with his team-mates' touch.

Some nice link up play between Watford's Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo sees the latter in the penalty area with the ball at his feet, but the angle is too tight for a shot at goal and he tries to find his captain, but the square pass is loose and the ball hacked to safety.

    Swansea 0-0 Watford

The first shot at goal comes from Swansea's Modou Barrow who cuts in from the right wing and shoots low, left-footed at goal. It is going wide but Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes makes sure and pushes it for a corner, which the hosts then waste.

    Swansea 0-0 Watford

Why do clubs opt for the short corner? When was the last time your team scored from one? Swansea try to be fancy and go short with their set-play, but the chance is wasted. An easy day so far for both goalkeepers. Nothing for the highlights reel as yet.

    Swansea 0-0 Watford

Watford have started with quite a bit of the ball, but in non-threatening areas. Etienne Capoue makes a burst through the middle but he just runs into trouble and it comes to nothing.

At the other end, Swansea win the first corner of the game...

And now we are under way in the match. Can Bob Bradley pick up three points on his first home outing?

This week has marked 50 years since the Aberfan disaster, where 144 people died when a colliery collapsed and both sets of players have just observed a minute's silence to pay their respects.

  14. Swansea in false position - Mazzarripublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 22 October 2016

Swansea may well be in the bottom three, but Watford boss Walter Mazzarri thinks they are in a false position.

He says: "Even under Francesco Guidolin they were playing good football for many moments, so they are a very good team and in their stadium it's a team we have to be aware of.

"Swansea are a very good team that deserve more points than they have so far."

"Usually when you change a coach the team always have a positive reaction on the pitch. Swansea have already shown against Arsenal (in Bradley's first game in charge) that they have been playing much better. They played very well against Arsenal."

  15. We need you - Bradley's message to the fanspublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 22 October 2016

    Swansea v Watford (15:00 BST)

Swansea fans have to cast their minds all the way back to May 1 to recall their last home victory.

Bob Bradley has gone into full "we need you" mode.

He said: "I would say to everyone at the Liberty 'we absolutely need you'.

"I'm not one to stand in front of the bench and (wave) the flag every time.

"I consider if we work the right way, understand what they are looking for and we get that part right it speaks for itself. But every now and again it's good to remind the fans this is important."

  17. 'Centre-backs at fault for Swansea'published at 14:48 British Summer Time 22 October 2016

    Swansea v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Football Focus

Former Swansea striker Dean Saunders: "Ashley Williams left Swansea and was not replaced. The two centre-backs are not on the same wavelength and have been at fault for most of the teams goals. Swansea have got to got shipping goals."

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson: "I think someone at Swansea should ask Southampton how they have done it. Southampton regularly sell their best players but keep going. Swansea are the complete opposite. The best players are sold and they haven't replaced them."

  18. Pressure on for Swanseapublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 22 October 2016

    Swansea v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Liberty Stadium

We are not quite at the stage of the season where games are described as “must-win” but, for Swansea, today’s match against Watford could at least by filed under “really-would-be-quite-useful-to-win”.

The Swans have not won in the Premier League since beating Burnley on the opening day of the season, and today’s game has added significance as it is manager Bob Bradley’s first at the Liberty Stadium.

While Bradley’s men languish in 19th place in the table, Watford are 11th and travel to south Wales on the back of a 1-0 victory at Middlesbrough last weekend. The pressure is on for coach Bradley and his side.

  19. How they standpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 22 October 2016

Most Watford fans would surely be happy with how their season has gone so far as Walter Mazzarri's side currently occupy a mid-table position, although they have dropped down one place after Bournemouth's 0-0 draw with Tottenham earlier today.

But Swansea fans will be less pleased. It is only October but it is looking like a long, hard season for the Swans.
