Celtic's new signing Cristian Gamboa says Champions League football was simply "a plus" in his decision to move from West Brom.

The 26-year-old right-back, who has also played in right midfield and as a right winger, says he expects to have to fight for his place, with Mikael Lustig and Saidy Janko also vying for the defensive position.

Gamboa says he spoke to Brendan Rodgers three days ago. "I know the way he plays," said the player.

English Football League clubs are being consulted on proposals to change the structure of the leagues, which includes introducing new clubs to the set-up to accommodate a fifth division.

The clubs are currently being asked for feedback on where these clubs might come from, including the possibility of looking into the involvement of Celtic and Rangers.

The EFL hope to finish the consultation process early next year, draw up a final proposal and then hold a vote amongst member clubs next summer. No discussions have been held with either Old Firm club in the meantime.
