  1. Championship latestpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

Norwich City are top of the Championship as things stand, with Wes Hoolahan's goal putting them in front against Rotherham. Newcastle United are hot on their heels though, with a 2-0 lead over Brentford through Ciaran Clark and Dwight Gayle goals.

Huddersfield were top of the table at the start of the day and face Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow.

There's a barnstormer at Oakwell, where Barnsley are 2-2 with Fulham.

But perhaps the news of the day remains the pitch invasion by pigs at the Valley... Charlton and Coventry fans orchestrated a joint protest against the respective owners of their clubs by chucking a load of toy pigs on to the pitch.

I did a completely random check on how many completed passes each side had when they were in possession during a little period before half-time.

Play was a bit scrappy but still.

    City: 4, 9, 4, 6, 9.

    Everton: 1, 3, 2, 2, 3.

  5. Allen on fire!published at 15:51 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Stoke 2-0 Sunderland

    Sue Smith
Former England forward on Final Score

Joe Allen is on fire! He is not only scoring goals, it's his work rate from midfield and that link-up play he has got. That was a good quality finish.

That was like a centre forward's finish, just low into the bottom corner.

  6. Monopoly of possessionpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Manchester City 0-0 Everton

City had 72% of possession in that first half and played some lovely stuff. But for all that they only had three shots on target and didn't cut Everton open enough.

  7. 'City lack a bit of cutting edge'published at 15:49 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Manchester City 0-0 Everton

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live at Etihad Stadium

I have seen some of the best football from Manchester City in a long time today but they are lacking a bit of cutting edge in the final third. I think Sergio Aguero will be out there warming up at half-time and you can't help but think it won't be long until he's brought on by Pep Guardiola.

  12. CLOSE!published at 15:48 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Arsenal 2-1 Swansea

Swansea could easily be going in level at the break. The ball is swung into the box and met by Jordi Amat at the back post but it is too close to Petr Cech, who dives low to save.

  13. EFL latestpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

Plymouth have been looking unstoppable at the moment - the League Two leaders are, searching for a 10th win of the season, led Portsmouth 1-0 through Yann Songo'o. But Kyle Bennett has equalised for the visitors.

There's goal fever at Oakwell in the Championship.

Lucas Piazon had levelled for Fulham to make it 1-1, only for Sam Winnall to put Barnsley back in front.

Minutes later, Sone Aluko brings it back to 2-2.

  15. 'Stekelenburg done his homework'published at 15:47 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Man City 0-0 Everton

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live at Etihad Stadium

Everton goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has clearly done his homework on Kevin de Bruyne's penalties. He's stood up a long time and has gone the correct way. It was probably a penalty; David Silva has just been caught by Phil Jagielka's leg.

GOAL - Stoke 2-0 Sunderlandpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Joe Allen (45 mins)

This is getting silly now. ANOTHER for Joe Allen! Sunderland make a hash of clearing the corner after Jordan PIckford's great save, Allen threads a low shot through two sets of legs from the edge of the area and it squeaks in at the corner.

Is this a first win of the season for Stoke?

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:45 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Stoke 1-0 Sunderland

Oh he's got to score that! Geoff Cameron bundles his way through some entirely unconvincing Sunderland defending to meet Jordan PIckford one-on-one but England's newest goalkeeper saves well with his feet!

  18. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 3-1 Hullpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Junior Stanislas

Junior Stanislas is having a great game for Bournemouth. Two assists and now a goal. He sticks his penalty away with minimum fuss, firing it high down the middle as David Marshall commits himself to a dive. The Cherries are now firmly in control.

  19. PENALTY to Bournemouthpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 15 October 2016

    Bournemouth 2-1 Hull

Hull have pressed self-destruct. Robert Snodgrass slides in heavily on Callum Wilson and concedes a spot-kick.
