Time for Celtic to move on from maulingpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
15:45 BST 16 September 2016John Barnes
BBC ScotlandBrendan Rodgers says he has drawn a line under the Barcelona defeat in the Champions League so that Celtic can return their focus to the domestic scene.
The Parkhead club's manager says he and the players have acted quickly to ensure the after-effects of the Barcelona bashing do not linger.
Rodgers said: "For us there is no left-over feeling from the other night. It's important as the coach and the manager you intervene because if you leave it, it maybe can continue, but the first morning we were back in we were able to reflect on it and that's your lever to move on.
"In the last couple of days it's just been about stabilising the emotion of the week really. The players have been absolutely outstanding since the day I walked in here and we'e been given some harsh lessons in the Nou Camp the other night against arguably the world's best ever team."
Still no Griffiths for Celticpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
15:34 BST 16 September 2016Inverness CT v Celtic (Sun)
Leigh Griffiths' absence from the Celtic first team will continue with the striker also missing Sunday's trip to Inverness.
The Scotland cap, 26, has missed his club's last two games with a hamstring injury, having amassed seven goals already this season.
Defences beware as Killie unleash Tyson furypublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
15:23 BST 16 September 2016Kilmarnock unveiled their new signing today. Striker Nathan Tyson, 34, has become Killie's 17th signing since the end of last season. Having been released from his contract this summer after two years with Doncaster Rovers, the Englishman has secured a one-year contract.
Barton is Warburton's business - Rodgerspublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
15:16 BST 16 September 2016John Barnes
BBC ScotlandBrendan Rodgers would not be drawn on the story of the day in Scotland - notably the suspension of Joey Barton at Rangers.
The Celtic manager himself has been the subject of comments from the Ibrox midfielder earlier this season.
Rodgers said: "I've not spoke on Joey since I've been up here and I wouldn't start now and to be fair it's not any of my business. That's Mark's [Warburton's] job, he's managing his team and his club and I'll let him get on with that."
Up and down week for Armstrongpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
15:07 BST 16 September 2016John Barnes
BBC ScotlandStuart Armstrong says he and his Celtic team-mates have just had to endure a week that emphasises the ups and down of the life of a footballer.
Having beaten their greatest rivals Rangers 5-1 in the derby last Saturday, they followed that up with a 7-0 thrashing from Barcelona in the Champions League.
Armstrong came on as a substitute in both matches with different outcomes.
"Obviously we were winning when I came on on Saturday and adding the goal was huge for me personally," he said.
"Tuesday was completely different coming on at 5-0 down trying to shore things up, but that's professional football, different situations every different week."
"A trip away to Inverness [on Sunday] is a different sort of atmosphere than the last two games we played. We're ruthless in the league so far this season and we want to continue being so. It's vital we get the three points and everyone's willing for that to happen."
'I hope it snows'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
14:49 BST 16 September 2016Inverness CT v Celtic (Sun)
Martin Dowden
BBC Sport ScotlandInverness CT manager Richie Foran believes his side can compete with Celtic this weekend but is looking for any advantage going.
“I hope it snows, simple as that," he said. "You want a horrible afternoon, get them out of their rhythm.
"No-one is expecting Inverness to do anything on Sunday but I am. I expect us to go out there and attack and show everyone what we’re all about.
"We’re probably up against the strongest Celtic team in years. Brendan [Rodgers] has done a great job there.
"It is sort of a no pressure game. We must believe."
Sammon praises strike partner Wattpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
14:41 BST 16 September 2016Conor Sammon has been impressed with how Hearts strike partner Tony Watt has approached this season.
Sammon said: "I can't speak about what he has done in the past but from the first day I've seen him at the training ground he's shown a real desire to do well and to make a success of his time at Hearts.
"It will have been a great experience for him linking up with the [Scotland] national team recently and that gives him even more motivation to do well in a Hearts jersey so that next time his name is in there."

A big day for Anna Signeulpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
13:44 BST 16 September 2016This could be a day to remember for Scotland Women's coach Anna Signeul. Should Finland, Russia or Italy fail to win their Euro 2017 qualifying games today, then Signeul will have led Scotland to their first major finals. And if that trio of nations do win their games, then Scotland will just need a point against Iceland in Reykjavik on Tuesday to seal their place in the finals in the Netherlands next summer.
Before all that, she was joined today by Scotland goalkeeper Gemma Fay, defender Joelle Murray, midfielder Leanne Ross and defender Kirsty Smith to announce a sponsorship deal with SSE, represented by Colin Banks.

Falkirk v Dundee United on BBC ALBApublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
12:56 BST 16 September 2016Our colleagues in BBC ALBA are showing live coverage of tomorrow's Championship match between Falkirk and Dundee United. The programme starts at 17:05 BST, 10 minutes before kick-off.
Both clubs are among the favourites to gain promotion to the Premiership this season but patchy early season form has left Dundee United in fourth, trailing league leaders Hibs by seven points. Falkirk are one place and one point further back than their opponents.
The match will be presented by Calum Macaulay with commentary from Alex O’Henley.
Saints boss demands 'A game' for Jambos visitpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
12:43 BST 16 September 2016St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright believes his team will have to be at their best to beat Hearts at McDiarmid Park for the second time this season.
Saints reached the quarter-finals of the Betfred Cup with a 3-2 win over Robbie Neilson's side in August, but that is the last time the Jambos have lost a game.
Wright said: "It (the win over Hearts) gives us a lot of confidence. The games between the two sides have been intriguing.
"They are a quality side. They have had a good start in the league, they have strengthened what is already a good squad.
"They have a real physical presence and among that they have quality players like (Jamie) Walker, (Sam) Nicholson and (Tony) Watt, who I think is going to be a great signing for them and we have to be on our A game to get a result."

Renovation job at Lennoxtownpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 16 September 2016
12:17 BST 16 September 2016Just a thought, but when Brendan Rodgers was told by the Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell that there was bit of rebuilding required at the club's training ground at Lennoxtown, was he meaning the castle or the squad?
