    For Derby County, it's been quite some 24 hours, after Nigel Pearson was suspended by the club, pending an investigation, shortly before their game against Cardiff yesterday.

    Assistant Chris Powell was placed in charge and the club picked up a 2-0 win in Cardiff.

    It was then confirmed that Powell would remain in charge for Saturday's game against Reading, before the departure of first-team coach Inigo Idiakez was announced a few hours ago.

    BBC Radio Derby reports that Pearson, 53, is not expected to return as manager.

    Tuesday's 11 Championship games saw Reading's six-game unbeaten league run finally end, while Wigan moved off the bottom with a win over Wolves thanks to Will Grigg being very much on fire.

    Meanwhile, Huddersfield returned to the top of the table with a 2-1 win over Rotherham, while Aston Villa were denied a second win of the season by Sam Winnall's late goal for Barnsley.

    Welcome to our live coverage of Newcastle v Norwich in the Championship.

    Two of last season's relegated Premier League sides who have promotion back to the top flight at the forefront of their minds.

    The sides last met on 2 April, when Martin Olsson's stoppage-time winner earned Norwich a 3-2 win at Carrow Road, while Georginio Wijnaldum became only the second Newcastle player to score four or more in a Premier League game as Newcastle smashed Alex Neil's side 6-2 last October.

    Victory for the Canaries tonight will see them go top of the league, while the Magpies will fly up from ninth to third if they can keep all three points in their St James' Park nest.
