A change for Sheffield Wednesday, Barry Bannan taken out of midfield to allow for the introduction of winger Ross Wallace.

Could he be the spark the Owls need to snatch a goal inside the final 30 minutes?

I've been critical of Rajiv van La Parra's end product today, but he's not getting much help from his team-mates either.

The winger works his way into the box, but has only two to aim at among a sea of Sheffield Wednesday defenders.

The hosts win a couple of corners - once again, the Owls see off the threat without any trouble.

Stung into life, Huddersfield launch an attack of their own - you probably by now don't need me tell you that Rajiv van La Parra was at the heart of it.

The winger springs forward once again down the left and his shot is blocked behind by Owls defender Tom Lees.

    No corner is given though.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    So close for Sheffield Wednesday!

With the first real attack of the half, Fernando Ferestieri chases down a long ball which splits the Huddersfield defence and brings it down quite beautifully.

Danny Ward is beaten comprehensively as Forestieri dinks towards goal, but the ball comes back off the base of the far post.

The second-half is under way and just 45 minutes remains for one of these sides to find a winner.

Neither side opt to make any changes at the break.

Huddersfield can retake first place in the Championship with a win today, but it's Norwich who occupy top spot as it stands following their  3-1 win over Rotherham on Saturday.

Newcastle also moved above the Terriers into second with a highly impressive 3-1 victory against Brentford at St James' Park, while Derby manager Steve McClaren started his second spell with the Rams with a 1-0 win against Leeds.

Ipswich, meanwhile, saw their run of games without a goal stretch to five, but they at least took a point in a 0-0 draw at struggling Blackburn, who earned their first clean sheet of the season.

    HT: Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Huddersfield fans have been turning out in big numbers all season long after efforts from the club's owners to keep season ticket prices down.

Both sets of supporters have been treated to plenty of quality so far, just not a killer finish.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 16 October 2016

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Huddersfield win another couple of corners, both of which are safely seen off by the visitors before the half-time whistle is blown.

The hosts have probably just about edged the first 45 minutes, but Sheffield Wednesday came closest to scoring when David Jones' cross came back off the crossbar inside the first five minutes.

  10. Into added timepublished at 45 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Tommy Smith gets a cross away for Huddersfield after more good work from - you guessed it - Rajiv van la Parra.

The ball is deflected behind as the fourth official shows two minutes of extra time are to be added.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday's attempts to build a few attacks of their own are being hampered by some over-eager tackling from Huddersfield.

Elias Kachunga becomes the first player to be shown a yellow card, before Kasey Palmer goes in a little late on Daniel Pudil. No booking for that one though.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

The dangerous Rajiv van La Parra shifts out to the Huddersfield right and causes more consternation for the Wednesday defence.

He cuts inside and works some space to shoot with his stronger left foot, but scoops the effort high over the bar.

Still goalless - you get the impression it won't stay that way until full-time.

Former Huddersfield goalkeeper Matt Glennon on BBC Radio Leeds:

"At last the game has come to life. It's a great save from Kieren Westwood from Kasey Palmer's shot and then at the other end Jonathan Hogg did well to stop Adam Reach to prevent Fernando Forestieri having a tap-in."

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Great work from Aaron Mooy to intercept inside the Sheffield Wednesday half sets away Kasey Palmer, who drives at goal and draws another save from Kieren Westwood.

The Owls counter attack and Fernando Forestieri's brilliant pass picks out Adam Reach inside the box, but Jonathan Hogg is there to put the ball behind for a corner.

The Terriers safely see off the set piece.

Rajiv van la Parra spearheads another Huddersfield attack - this time he does pick out a teammate in the box.

Elias Kachunga controls, turns and shoots left-footed, but Kieren Westwood denies him at the near post.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

After a period of Huddersfield dominance, the game has gone a little bit flat again, with Sheffield Wednesday happy just to hold onto the ball when they get it.

Both teams' strikers are looking isolated up front right now.

  17. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Well, that was a better cross.

Tommy Smith gets it in from the right-hand touchline and Nahki Wells works himself an inch of space inside the Sheffield Wednesday box.

His glancing header fails to hit the target - that was probably the best chance his side have had so far.

    Paul Ogden
BBC Radio Leeds' Huddersfield Town commentator

"These are two very well organised teams, well coached.

"They're like two boxers sparring, just trying to land that punch."

The plan for both teams seems to be to get forward down the wing and get as many balls into the box as possible.

It's Huddersfield who are doing it better at the moment, controlling possession and causing problems through Rajiv van la Parra on the left.

The quality of the cross just hasn't been there so far though.

  20. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Rajiv van La Parra plays a one-two with Nahki Wells to get inside the Sheffield Wednesday box, but he tries to pull the ball back instead of shooting and it's cleared behind for a corner.

Aaron Mooy takes a shot from distance as the Owls head the corner away, but he's off target with his effort.

It's been a quiet day for Mooy, who has impressed since joining on loan from Manchester City in summer.
