Well, I wouldn't mind a striker in my team having 11 league goals by mid-October.

  3. Hope for Barnsley?published at 21:23 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    Barnsley 0-2 Newcastle United

No, Barnsley haven't beaten Karl Darlow yet but BBC Radio Sheffield's Adam Oxley hasn't given up on the Tykes yet, pointing out that no team has scored more goals than them in the last 10 minutes of Championship games this season.

Three of those came at Molineux as Wolves collapsed. Newcastle might be more of a pushover, especially as Mo Diame has just headed narrowly wide.

  4. Postpublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    Fulham 2-2 Norwich

The game at Craven Cottage could go either way.

Alex Tettey's 20-yard shot has drawn an excellent save from Fulham goalkeeper David Button.

  5. Deadlock brokenpublished at 21:20 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    QPR 1-0 Bristol City

QPR had been threatening to take the lead against Bristol City and they are finally in front as Idrissa Sylla tucks the ball home from James Perch's inviting cross.

It's a case of what might have been for the Robins who, moments earlier, saw Alex Smithies save brilliantly when one-on-one with Bobby Reid.

  7. League One updatepublished at 21:15 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

Sheffield United now look certain to make it seven wins from their last nine league games.

Daniel Lafferty and Billy Sharp's second goal of the night has made it 3-0 to the Blades at lowly Shrewsbury.

MK Dons are also heading for all three points against Bristol Rovers. Ben Reeves has put Karl Robinson's side 3-1 up.

Rochdale's night has got even gloomier at Swindon. They are 2-0 behind and now down to 10 men with Joe Bunney seeing red.

  8. goal

GOAL: Reading 1-1 Aston Villapublished at 21:12 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    Yann Kermorgant

Reading level - but only just - through Yann Kermorgant.

Aly Cissokho concedes a penalty for the second match in a row, bringing down Garath McCleary.

Danny Williams' spot-kick is saved by Pierliugi Gollini, but Kermorgant heads in the rebound.

That's another advantage that Villa have thrown away this season!

    Quote Message

Fantastic header. It came to him 12 yards out, and he had so much work to do. He had to get a lot on it from the edge of the area, and headed it in before the keeper was able to get back on his feet. That's good news for him, and good news for Reading.

  9. goal

GOAL: Barnsley 0-2 Newcastle Unitedpublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    Dwight Gayle

The Newcastle fans were already singing "We are top of the league" when they heard about Fulham's equaliser.

They're singing it with even greater gusto now after Matt Ritchie plays in Dwight Gayle, who races clear and finishes from the edge of the box.

BBC Radio Sheffield's Adam Oxley describes it as an "exquisite finish" and he's not wrong.

    QPR 0-0 Bristol City

But only just. Conor Washington is the man to go close again for Rangers, volleying just over from Tjaronn Chery's lofted pass.

  11. goal

    Chris Martin

What's that saying about players coming back to haunt their old club? Chris Martin has done just that.

The Fulham striker turns inside his man in the box and finishes neatly past Michael McGovern.

Norwich have thrown away a two-goal lead and Newcastle, who are 1-0 up at Barnsley, are going top of the Championship as it stands.

  12. Game on at St Andrew'spublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    Birmingham 3-2 Rotherham

The game at St Andrew's looked like it might have been done at half-time, but it's far from over now as Jon Taylor taps home from close range.

The Millers then go close to an equaliser as Adam Legzdins denies Izzy Brown.

Meanwhile, could goals be like buses for Ipswich at Portman Road? Well, maybe. They certainly couldn't have gone closer to a second against Burton as Tom Lawrence's header is kept out by a goal-line clearance.

    Fulham 1-2 Norwich

Championship leaders Norwich, having controlled the first half at Craven Cottage, are now looking to survive a Fulham onslaught.

The hosts have been buoyed by Stefan Johansen's goal after half-time.

  14. Equalisers in League Onepublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

Southend have levelled things up at second-placed Bradford - Anthony Wordsworth's header making it 1-1 at Valley Parade.

Franck Moussa has also equalised for Walsall at Gillingham.

  15. CLOSE!published at 20:59 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    Barnsley 0-1 Newcastle United

Great response from Barnsley, who immediately go close to an equaliser as Sam Morsy cuts in from the left and fires just over the bar.

QPR go close against Bristol City too but Conor Washington's effort from the edge of the box comes back off the woodwork.

  16. goal

GOAL: Fulham 1-2 Norwichpublished at 20:58 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    Stefan Johansen

A lifeline for Fulham, who have pulled a goal back against Championship leaders Norwich in fortunate circumstances.

Chris Martin's shot takes a deflection off one of his own players before nestling into the corner. Stefan Johansen has been credited with it, and the deficit is halved.

BBC Radio 5 live's Mike Sewell says the hosts have made a "really good start" to the second half.

  17. League One updatepublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

There are a couple of early second-half strikes to tell you about.

Billy Sharp has his sixth League One goal of the season to put Sheffield United ahead at Shrewsbury.

Matt Taylor has also pulled one back for Bristol Rovers at MK Dons. Darrell Clarke's side now trail 2-1.

  18. goal

GOAL: Barnsley 0-1 Newcastle Unitedpublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    Dwight Gayle

    Dwight GayleImage source, Rex Features

The ideal start to the second half for Newcastle United and their manager Rafael Benitez.

Matt Ritchie swings a corner into the box, Barnsley can't clear and the ball eventually finds its way to Dwight Gayle only four yards out.

The Championship's leading scorer doesn't miss from there and buries the ball into the net for his 10th league goal of the season.

According to BBC Sport's Adam Williams at the Madejski Stadium, it was a drab first half.

But I'm sure Aston Villa fans and Steve Bruce won't care as they lead at the break thanks to Jonathan Kodjia's goal.

  20. Ipswich's long wait is overpublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 18 October 2016

    Ipswich 1-0 Burton

    Luke ChambersImage source, Rex Features

Was it worth the wait Ipswich fans? I hope so.

Anyway, after going more than a month without a goal, fans of the Tractor Boys know what it's like to celebrate again after captain Luke Chambers' header gave them a lead over Burton at the break.

Their previous goal was Luke Varney's winner at Derby on 13 September.
