Liverpool are unchanged from their scoreless draw at Southampton last week.

There is a place on the bench for 17-year-old Ben Woodburn but no Daniel Sturridge who is left out with a calf injury.

Sunderland make two changes which are forced upon them.

Papy Djilobodji was sent off in their 3-0 win at Hull, so John O'Shea takes his place. Steven Pienaar returns to Merseyside and gets a start as Paddy McNair begins a long injury lay-off.

Victor Anichebe leads the line, another ex-Everton man returning to Merseyside with Pienaar and boss David Moyes.

Can a returning enemy scupper Liverpool's momentum?

Sunderland boss David Moyes spent 11 years across Stanley Park at Everton. Guess what, he never engineered a win here in that time. Hard to believe.

It seemed hard to believe he'd make it to this fixture this season in a job at one point. The Black Cats were dire and winless in the Premier League until November and then, suddenly, joy and points. Say it loud Sunderland fans, "joy and points".

Two wins from two matches. The odds are against them today but they seemingly have a puncher's chance.
