What a day.

Six games, 23 goals - including nine in one match - and three different leaders at the top of the Premier League in the space of a few hours.

Christmas really has come early for football fans. Chelsea's next game is an absolute cracker. Away at Manchester City next Saturday (12:30 GMT). Third versus top. Separated by one point. Bring. It. On. 

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois: "The saves I made today were not too hard. We found strength inside the team and the changes of the manager helped us win the game. He's like that every session. When we do tactics he's very passionate and demands. He keeps the team sharp."

The good news for Tottenham is they don't have to visit Stamford Bridge in the league for at least another nine months.

They have won none of their last 30 visits to Stamford Bridge in all competitions since a 2-1 win in February 1990.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte: "These games are difficult, It was  a tough game with a lot of intensity. 

"It's too early to talk of the title. This league is very tough. Tottenham showed in this league there are six or seven teams that can win the title. It's important to continue in this way and improve the confidence."

Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier: "We were far the better team until they get their goal. Football has two halves and we have to be good for 90 minutes. We opened the door for them and we're very disappointed. It was a very nice finish for Pedro's goal but we could have stopped it in the build up. It's disappointing because it's something we need to improve on. 

"It's our first league defeat and we're happy with the way we're playing in the league. Obviously going out of the Champions League is a disappointment. I think we bounced back from what happened during the week, it's just disappointing to concede just before half-time. That changed everyone's mentality."

Chelsea winger Victor Moses: "I am very pleased with the goal but the most important thing is the three points. There's nothing we could about the Spurs goal. Fortunately Pedro got us back in the game 

"I feel like I have found a home here. It's my club. I'm pleased the manager has given me a chance to express myself. I just want to keep playing my football and we are very happy with win today."

More from Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "We had the possession and created more attempts than Chelsea. All the stats are for us but football is not just about stats. You need to be clinical and score. It was a competitive game.

"Every game you need to prove. It is tough to compete in the Premier League and the Champions League. We need to look ahead and prepare for the next game."

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "If we analyse the game we were better. We competed very well and we were a bit unlucky to concede...never 1-1 at half-time. The second half we conceded a goal very early. We are disappointed but we need to be pleased for the performance and the way we competed against a very good team."

What a wretched week for Tottenham.

Dumped out of the Champions League and the end of their unbeaten Premier League start.

Reaction from Mauricio Pochettino next.

Chelsea forward Pedro: "It was a very difficult game for us but we are happy for the win. This is the way, game by game. There's good feelings. I scored and it's good. The team has a good mentality and stability. We are high on confidence."

Chelsea did a job. It was simple, two moments of brilliance. It was probably Tottenham's best 45 minutes but with this well-drilled Chelsea defence, Spurs were never going to get a second goal. Chelsea are title contenders.

David Luiz has just gone over to the crowd and handed over his shirt to an elderly female fan. She also gets a peck on the cheek from the defender. I won't hear another bad word said about Luiz from now on!

Antonio Conte still has energy to burn. He leads the celebrations on the pitch. The Chelsea boss hugs each and every player in a blue shirt. He knows what this win means.

Chelsea end the day where they started it - on top of the Premier League table after a fine comeback win.

Antonio Conte is urging the home fans to make more noise. He's waving his arms in the air while looking at the crowd. It's that kind of behaviour which irritated Jose Mourinho. Mauricio Pochettino doesn't react.
