More from West Ham boss Slaven Bilic, speaking to BBC Sport: "No my players did not go missing. It was bad. I feel disappointed. I feel humiliated and it’s my responsibility.

"We have good spells in the game, but we can’t do it for 90 minutes. During the game we lose composure, especially when opponents score.

"We have eight players injure and now James Collins in injured in the second minute. But I don’t want this to be an excuse for tonight’s result. I want to apologise to the fans and anyone to do with West Ham.

"We have missed Andy Carroll from the start of the season and today he came back, it’s good for him. Hopefully he is going to stay fit and West Ham can only benefit.

"I feel under pressure, I put the pressure on myself. I am not happy with the display. I don’t want to feel like this. So of course I am feeling pressure. But the pressure is not a problem. Things have to change. Quality is not enough. You have to be a team, you have to be stubborn."

Hmmm. Slaven Bilic has just told BBC Sport he's been humiliated today. And he's repeated that his players don't have enough intensity in training.

The Croat has gone all out on his players - calculated risk or a good way to lose your dressing room?

    West Ham 1-5 Arsenal

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic on BT Sport: “I am not looking for excuses. Yes we had injuries and mistakes, but we were not good enough.

"It was a big humiliation. I feel sorry for the fans and the club. We played some good games in this season, and had some good moments today even at 0-0 and 1-0 down.

"But I have to be honest and say we don’t have the intensity and from the dedication comes the quality. We don’t have it the same as last season, even in training. We have it occasionally in games and that’s why we are so up and down. We are in a serious situation before this game which we don’t like. The players know that, but it’s not only about knowing but sacrificing and dedication for the game.

"James Collins the whole season he has a little bit of a tight calf, but he was ready to play. He did not feel it before the game but just early on in the match. It's bad luck but that’s not the reason we lost."

West Ham forward Andy Carroll, who scored on his return from injury: "It was awful by the end. At half-time, going in 1-0, we were lucky. I thought at that time we could have got something out of the game, but as soon as it went 2-0 our heads dropped.

"It was disappointing early on to lose James Collins - it was hard for the team and we had to alter our formation. We held on until half-time, but then let things slip. We pushed on to try and score some goals but left gaps at the back.

"We have been going through a tough spell but I think we can get out of it."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger speaking to BBC Sport: "We had a convincing performance and strong result. We created many chances and you could see West Ham are not a confident team at home. On top of that we had a strong performance.

"Alexis Sanchez - it took him a while mentally to get into the game, but he can always give you something special. He’s a fighter and a classy player. You don’t find many players like him. He can always surprise you. He also has great technique as well.

"I believe we are on a strong run and it’s down to us to be mentally ready to maintain that run."

Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: "We were 1-0 up at half-time but we were a little wasteful and they were putting dangerous balls into the box. We knew we needed to come out strong in the second half and in the end it was quite convincing.

"Alexis Sanchez was brilliant, he gives you that speed in behind opposing defences. He’s like Sergio Aguero in many ways. You get balls up to him and he can just make things happen. He’s an amazing player and it’s great to have in the team. We are good on the counter attack and Mesut Ozil and Alexis are the first to turn and go in behind.

"When West Ham scored it kicked us back into life.We just need to keep winning games. We're Arsenal Football Club. If people don’t expect us to be there or thereabouts (in the title race) it’s a bit disrespectful. You never know what’s going to happen. We need to keep this going."

    I'm re-watching Alexis Sanchez's dummy-shot for his third goal. It's glorious.

But it's his first one that takes the biscuit. There are few humans on the plant that could move a ball like he does to get away from his marker and spin into the area like that.

Arsenal were at their brilliant best, and once they got themselves in front it was just a matter of time before they built on their lead.

West Ham have to thank their keeper for keeping the scoreline down.

A thumping victory for the Gunners and they are genuine challengers for the title.

Erm. Someone at West Ham needs to have a word with the ball boys.

A few of them mob Alexis Sanchez for his shirt - one of them wheels away in delight as he nabs the spoils.

The rest stick around for a selfie with the Chilean.

Obviously the ball boys don't really need a word - they're just having a bit of fun.
