Theo Walcott looks a different player from what I saw earlier in the season. There is bags of confidence from Arsenal and one more should put the game to bed. Stoke are struggling to get out of their half. Arsenal have lots of options.

    Arsenal 2-1 Stoke

Arsenal pressing for a third and Lee Grant makes a decent save from Oxlade-Chamberlain's edge-of-the-box shot.

Pouring down at the Emirates now, Mark Hughes wants to make a change and gesticulates when he isn't allowed to. It looks like referee Lee Mason wants them to restart play with a bounce-ball but pulls it back when Oxlade-Chamberlain whacks it forward. Cue more Hughes anger.

Mat VP: Lee Grant will probably speed up his kicks now then you will imagine?

Shanu Afolami: Oh My Word! Wenger should please bring out the checkbook tonight! Wonderful Golazo by Ozil

Ian Funnell: Ozil scores again. Adding goals this season. Pay the man what he wants as we wont find a replacement

  4. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Arsenal 2-1 Stoke

Mame Biram Diouf looks to have been played in for Stoke but the assistant referee flags him offside. He wasn't though. Another reason for the visitors to feel aggrieved.

  5. 'A great piece of improvisation'published at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Arsenal 2-1 Stoke City

    Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain at the Emirates for BBC Radio 5 live

Mesut Ozil had to stretch a lot to score that and he was a long way out. It was a great bit of improvisation. He couldn't control it. Lee Grant came out and couldn't go back. Brilliant goal.

  6. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Arsenal 2-1 Stoke

I've just watched a replay of the second Arsenal goal and Erik Pieters was still running back after coming back on following his treatment when Ozil scored.

    Very frustrating for Stoke.

GOAL - Arsenal 2-1 Stokepublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Mesut Ozil (49 mins)

A superb chipped pass from Oxlade-Chamberlain goes over the Stoke defence and Mesut Ozil is in acres to lift his header over Lee Grant. The Gunners lead and one more would take them top, assuming they keep Stoke out.

    Arsenal 1-1 Stoke

Refere Lee Mason has a word with Stoke keeper Lee Grant over time-wasting. It's a bit early for that tactic, surely.

Bellerin in the action again, at the other end this time, doing enough to prevent Erik Pieters getting in a far-post header.

Pieters has been hurt in the incident and needs treatment. He's up but limping.

  9. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Arsenal 1-1 Stoke

Hector Bellerin has been superb since he came on, creating the equaliser and sending over quite a few dangerous crosses. He has a shot of his own here but it's well off target.

  13. 'Arsenal on top but Stoke are stubborn'published at 15:58 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Arsenal 1-1 Stoke City

Another cross from Bellerin. He's my man of the match so far and he only came on a substitute. Stoke will need to cut out those crosses.

Arsenal have dominated, but conceded a needless penalty. Cech has had one save to make. Stoke have been stubborn but I think there will be more goals in the second half.

  14. Postpublished at 15:56 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Arsenal 1-1 Stoke

Stoke had a problem down their left flank with just Theo Walcott to contend with. Now with Hector Bellerin having replacing Shkodran Mustafi through injury there are two sets of rapid heels to deal with.

With over 50% of Arsenal's attacking moves coming down their right, was it any surprise that Bellerin and Walcott combined for the goal that cancels out Charlie Adam's penalty?

I said it would not be 0-0 and I'm proved right. I think there will be more goals. Well done to Arsenal for being patient. Game on!

    Arsenal 1-1 Stoke

Well, that was rather entertaining. Arsenal dominated most of the half but Stoke created quite a few opening of their own - at least as many as the Gunners - and it's all set up for a cracking second 45 minutes.

Bellerin with the cross again but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain flashes a shot over. Stoke ready for the half-time whistle here. They need to regroup.

Good goal. Theo Walcott is doing what good strikers should do and getting across the front man, across the near post. It's a deft touch as well, a nice finish.
