Summary

  • West Ham are on a six-match winless league run

  • Only one of Burnley's 17 points has come away from home

  1. PENALTY TO WEST HAMpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

Bobby Madley's given it! And probably rightly so.

Andy Carroll's header from a corner is punched by Tom Heaton but only to the feet of Winston Reid who is judged to have been hauled back by Ben Mee.

    Great chance for the Hammers!

  2. Wonderful block and post struck!published at 45 mins

    Wow! And Wow!

First Matt Lowton produces the best piece of defensive play in the match by making a goal-saving block to prevent Aaron Cresswell's angled shot from breaking the net.

Moments later Mark Noble's curling shot comes off the post.

    It's hotting up.

  3. Another man downpublished at 43 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

    Now Sam Vokes is down.

    This is getting silly.

Winston Reid appeared to catch him on the back of the head.

The Clarets man is back up.

    Nobody else go down, OK?

  4. Deckedpublished at 40 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

I've rarely seen as many players down in such a relatively uneventful half as this one.

Reid, Carroll and Kouyate have been on the turf and now Matt Lowton (fierce Aaron Cresswell challenge) and Dean Marney have hit the deck,

  5. OBIANG HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 36 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

That's worth CAPS and bold combo.

Pedro Obiang strikes a low effort from 23 yards and the ball bounces off Tom Heaton's right-hand post. Great shot.

  6. Postpublished at 33 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

Another shot from West Ham - but yet again, it's weak.

This time it's Michail Antonio who lets fly. OK, not quite fly, more trundle.

A lot of possession, but not enough bite from the Hammers.

  7. Carroll is downpublished at 30 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

    Now then.

Andy Carroll is down on the ground after a brush with Matt Lowton.

After some treatment he goes over to the fourth official and appears to suggest that Lowton's intentions might have been, well, somewhat intentional.

The incident might be shown on Match of the Day later.

  8. That came off the hand!published at 28 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

The ball comes off Michael KeaneImage source, Rex Features

Referee Bobby Madley waves away a decent shout for a pen.

The corner from the right is headed on by Winston Reid and the ball comes off Clarets defender Michael Keane. Clearly.

The home side appeal, Madley is not interested. Bilic appears surprised.

    Accidental?

  9. Postpublished at 26 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

First corner of the game. It goes to West Ham. How exciting.

If only the Hammers had some 6ft 4in striker in the box.

  10. Dispossessedpublished at 25 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

Burnley have had 26.6% of the possession.

Possession stats don't always tell the tale, but in this case, they do.

  11. Postpublished at 21 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

West Ham love that shot from the edge of the box, don't they?

This time Andy Carroll has a go but his effort is scooped over the bar - would have been a great drop-goal if this was rugby. It's not.

  13. Postpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

Burnley very much pinned back by West Ham in the opening 15 minutes, as the average positions show below.

George Boyd (21) looks like he's stranded on an island up top...

  14. Wait! Action!published at 16 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

West Ham sort of go close.

Mark Noble drifts an in-swinging ball to the far post but it just eludes the toepoke of Michail Antonio.

  15. Dull so farpublished at 14 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

I have to say it's not been box office. So if you have recorded Planet Earth II and yet to watch it feel free to catch a little bit of it now. I'll let you know if something happens.

  16. Postpublished at 10 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

West Ham's Manuel Lanzini launches one from 20 yards but he gets too much slice on it. An ugly one really.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic will be happy with how his side have started though - counterpart Sean Dyche, less so.

  18. Reid gets treatmentpublished at 6 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

West Ham defender Winston Reid gets some treatment after appearing to suffer an injury to the face. He seems a little groggy but he's OK.

I didn't see exactly how it happened because I was too busy typing the previous entry.

Moments later Dimitri Payet has a pop from 20 yards but the low shot is well held by Tom Heaton.

  19. He should have scoredpublished at 2 mins

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

Andy Carroll reacts after missing a chanceImage source, Rex Features

Andy Carroll shakes his head - he should have scored.

Michail Antonio delivers a delightful ball from the right and Carroll - who doesn't need to jump because he's so tall - fends off his markers but heads wide.

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

We are under way in Stratford.
