Chelsea are hoping history repeats itself this season, because every other time they've been top of the Premier League at Christmas, they've gone on to win it.

Antonio Conte's team are clear at the summit thanks to a stunning run of 11 wins in a row. One more against Bournemouth will set a new club record.

As you cast a final eye over your fantasty selections consider this:

There will be no Boxing Day goals for Diego Costa this year. Guaranteed.

The in-form striker is suspended and he will be missed. Costa has scored 13 of Chelsea's 35 Premier League goals this season. In addition, the former Atletico Madrid forward has provided five assists.

  7. 'Watford difficult to predict'published at 11:52 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

Watford v Crystal Palace (12:30 GMT)

    Mark Scott
    Match of the Day commentator

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri fears Alan Pardew's departure could be bad news for Watford, as it may mean his plans for tackling Palace have gone out the window, but the Hornets' form suggests it's also difficult to predict what we'll see from them as well.

Another strong entry in the niche football Christmas present department...

This year I got a pair of rather fetching Sampdoria flip-flops. I did ask for them, I just have to wait a few months until I can use them now!

Today we're asking for your photos and stories of football present fails. Did you get anything really, really bad for Christmas this year?

Watford v Crystal Palace (12:30 GMT)

    watford team

Watford captain Troy Deeney has been stranded on 99 goals for the Hornets since 1 October - a run of 10 games - and has been dropped to the bench by manager Walter Mazzarri with Adlene Guedioura taking his place.

Daryl Janmaat for Juan Zuniga is the other change from Watford's last match - a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland.

Watford XI: Gomes, Kaboul, Prodl, Britos, Janmaat, Behrami, Guedioura, Holebas, Amrabat, Capoue, Ighalo.

Subs: Deeney, Cathcart, Doucoure, Zuniga, Sinclair, Kabasele, Pantilimon.

    Crystal Palace team

Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce recalls winger Andros Townsend in place of James McArthur for his first match in charge of the club.

Mathieu Flamini also returns in central midfield in place of Joe Ledley.

Palace XI: Hennessey, Kelly, Dann, Delaney, Ward, Flamini, Cabaye, Zaha, Puncheon, Townsend, Christian Benteke.

Subs: Speroni, Campbell, Lee, Fryers, Mutch, Husin, Wan Bissaka.

  10. 'More resilient and solid'published at 11:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

Watford v Crystal Palace (12:30 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce, speaking to Sky Sports:"It's nice to be back. I don't know the players too well but history and experience tells me they have a lot of talent. They were fifth in the league in 2015, that seems to have been lost somewhat in 2016 so can we reinvent it?

"Apart from maybe a lack of confidence there is a lack of numbers as well so that's two areas to build on at a hectic time.

"We seem to be really good on the ball but I've told the players to be more resilient and defensively solid. If we've got the talent up front that can hopefully get us a few goals.

"Keith [Millen, the Palace assistant manager] and the lads have prepared the players in a really good way. It's about them taking responsibly now and not making too many mistakes."

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

On current form it's possible that West Brom could finish higher than in any season since 1981.

They've scored three or more goals in four league games already: that's rather like the quiet bloke from Quantity Surveying arriving at the office party in a low-cut sparkly number with slingback heels and a Chihuahua puppy in his handbag. Surprising.

    Leicester v Everton (15:00 GMT)

    Martin Fisher
    Match of the Day commentator

There's too much quality and character in Claudio Ranieri's side for Leicester to go down. Strong at home, I certainly expect them to get the better of an Everton side who have lost their last four away games and will be glad to see the back of 2016.

  19. 'Moyes deserved longer at Man Utd'published at 11:23 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

Man Utd v Sunderland (15:00 GMT)

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

David Moyes will have been very wounded it did not work out at Manchester United. I personally feel he was treated a bit harshly. His record is not that much different to Louis van Gaal's or Jose Mourinho's in their first seasons, and David was following Sir Alex Ferguson.

I think he deserved a bit longer - certainly until the end of the season after being hand picked for the job.

  20. Five for Man Utd?published at 11:19 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

Man Utd v Sunderland (15:00 GMT)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

The highest-scoring meeting of these clubs came on a Boxing Day - a 5-3 Sunderland win at Old Trafford in 1950.

Having found their rhythm and - in Jose Mourinho's mind - overdue reward for recent performances, United could be the ones to get five this time against a depleted visiting squad.
