Today we're asking for your photos and stories of football present fails. Did you get anything really, really bad for Christmas this year?

My brother bought me one of the infamous Norwich City bird poo shirts in the summer of 1992 after we were nearly relegated the previous season. We came third, beat Bayern Munich and played at the San Siro. It is now the most valuable possession I own!

  3. Kind words for the Chosen Onepublished at 11:10 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

Man Utd v Sunderland (15:00 GMT)

David Moyes returns to the club that sacked him when Sunderland visit Manchester United this afternoon.

Current United manager Jose Mourinho has words of encouragement for the 53-year-old Scot.

"I think a manager that’s not sacked is not a manager, or at least is not a good manager," said Mourinho. "We have to be sacked.

"So I think it was just a bad moment in David’s career and he has to do what I did, what we all do - move on. And he did that."

The 'Chosen One' banner, by the way, is apparently the subject of offers from Kuwait and Australia.

The banner is presently in storage at a house in Salford Quays, barely half a mile from where it hung on the second tier of Old Trafford's East Stand.

Swansea's defence has not coped with Salomon Rondon and Alvaro Negredo in their last two matches. West Ham's Andy Carroll will surely be eagerly awaiting the trip to South Wales.

As 2016 becomes 2017 Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger moves into the final months of his current deal with his future at the Gunners anything but clear.

If the situation is stressing the Frenchman out he is doing a pretty strong job of hiding it.

"I always said that I will judge where I stand in spring and make my decisions then," said Wenger.

"There are plenty of managers who arrived at the end of their contract. It happened to me before.

"I signed sometimes in March, April for longer contracts. So I don't think it's a problem."

  6. Happy Birthday, Hugopublished at 10:59 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

Southampton v Tottenham (Wednesday, 19:45 GMT)

What a few days for Hugo Lloris.

Last Thursday, the Tottenham goalkeeper signed a new improved contract until 2022. After opening his Christmas presents yesterday, the France international is today unwrapping birthday gifts as he celebrates turning 30.

And to top it all, Lloris has an extra two days to prepare before Spurs take on Mauricio Pochettino's former club Southampton on Wednesday.

    No wonder he's smiling.

Hull City v Man City (17:15 GMT)

    Steve Bower
    Match of the Day commentator

At the top of Hull's Christmas list is new faces. Their efforts given the early-season turmoil have been admirable, but Mike Phelan is only too aware he needs more quality and fresh impetus to keep them in the top flight.

He'll know he needs every player at the top of their game if they are to prevent more Manchester City smiles.

Swansea v West Ham (15:00 GMT)

    John Roder
    Match of the Day commentator

The last time I was at the Liberty for Match of the Day was the 5-4 win for Swansea over Crystal Palace, a match that can be described many ways, but is probably best summed up as 'bonkers'.

A repeat of a nine-goal thriller is probably not on the cards, but West Ham have taken seven points from their last three matches; a significant improvement after a poor run.

  10. 'Unlikely adversaries'published at 10:49 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

    Burnley v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

    Alistair Mann
    MOTD commentator atTurf Moor

It's by no means a local derby, yet the meeting of Burnley and Middlesbrough has evolved to become a highly competitive duel. Stoked up by off-field comments, external and budgetary comparisons, the two have now become unlikely adversaries with their many recent meetings in the Championship pivotal, as each has sought to scupper the other's quest for promotion.

Having both achieved that aim in May, they're now acutely aware of the importance of beating each other, in their battle to remain among the game's elite.

  11. Dispirited and haunted?published at 10:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

Arsenal v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

After back-to-back defeats Arsenal must be dispirited, perhaps haunted by Christmases past when being part of a title race was a given.

It should have been so different - the games at Everton and Manchester City were so firmly in Arsenal's control and so frivolously surrendered.

Some fans are now simply craving their future Christmases to be spent without the man they still feel displays a too Scrooge-like tendency to penny-pinch.

  12. Conte's first Christmaspublished at 10:43 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will see his team play Bournemouth later on Boxing Day as he experiences his first busy football Christmas.

He was joined by his wife and daughter for a brief celebration - and was delighted that his work commitments ensured he did not have to do any Christmas shopping.

"In this period, we're used to going on holiday for a week," he said.

"You have to celebrate Christmas with the family. It's not important where you stay, but it's important to stay together with your family.

"I don't like to buy gifts. I don't like this. My wife does this. She is a fantastic person. I don't like going to the shops. My wife spends the right money, not a lot of money."

I wonder how much the right amount of money is for a Premier League manager?..

    This is niche.

Can anyone better this with a more obscure football gift?

My brother received an FC Köln scarf yesterday as a gift. I haven't yet asked him if he's wearing it at the City Ground for Forest vs Barnsley.

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton

You may remember the Cherries won this fixture last season thanks to a late goal.

They also put four past Liverpool the last time I saw them play, but away from home they've only managed to win one of the past 10.

The best news for Bournemouth fans is that Chelsea will be without two key players in Diego Costa and N'Golo Kante.

A picture to warm hearts on Boxing Day.

Antonio Conte and his senior players took time off from Chelsea's Premier League title chase to give the club's under-8s a Christmas present to remember.

This one, well, it is certainly different. We could do an entire thread on what it might involve.

    Photos always help...

My wife bought me two tickets to 'An Evening With Ed Balls' at Carrow Road. I'm a Norwich fan but that has to be one of the most random presents I've received. That said, last year she got me a parking permit...!

Away from the traditional skirmishes there was a minor battle rumbling away all week.

Which club would provide the best pre-Christmas news conference buffet?

While Manchester United offered the media a plate full of mince pies washed down with a plastic cup of wine, rivals Liverpool came up with mini doughnuts and the ambassador's favourites.
