Arsenal are getting very frustrated and Olivier Giroud is booked for his reaction to a decision by the assistant referee. Not clever.

Alexis Sanchez pulls the ball back for Olivier Giroud and he lays it off for Alex Iwobi, whose shot is blocked by Claudio Yacob.

The Gunners heed the warning of Salomon Rondon's chance and go up the other end where Alexis Sanchez has a shot parried by keeper Ben Foster before Alex Iwobi sends an effort just high.

West Brom keeper Ben Foster is in no hurry to take his goal-kicks and it's starting to annoy the home fans, who are whistling him as he takes his time.

Granit Xhaka almost slides a ball into the run of Olivier Giroud but Jonny Evans is on hand to get in a vital tackle.

West Brom are always dangerous from set pieces and they have two corners in quick succession and both times keeper Petr Cech does well to punch clear.

West Brom create their first real attacking threat. Baggies left-back Allan Nyom sends a cross to the far post and Salomon Rondon and the Gunners defence clears after a moment of concern.

Alexis Sanchez goes for a pop at goal from just outside the box and, like Olivier Giroud earlier on, sends his effort well wide.

Hector Bellerin gets in behind the West Brom defence and he sends in a cross which is intercepted and cleared. It's all Arsenal at the moment.

Olivier Giroud goes for a 22-yard curler but is well off target. Let's call that a sighter to be kind.

Matt Phillips isn't shy at running at opposing defences and he goes at the Arsenal back line before being brought down by Gabriel, who gets a word from ref Neil Swarbrick but no card. 

Will this be the pattern of the game? Arsenal are attacking with West Brom defending deep. The Gunners cause a bit of concern in the Baggies box but the ball ricochets around before being cleared.

Alexis Sanchez is played through on goal but West Brom's keeper gets to the ball first and gathers. Sanchez was flagged for offside but it was close, very close.

There's more than a few empty seats at the Emirates and the atmosphere is decidedly low-key.

Just in case you'd missed this, West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract that will run until 2019.

The 33-year-old England international joined West Brom on loan from Birmingham City in 2011 before making the move permanent a year later.

He has made 161 appearances for the club, keeping 41 clean sheets.

"His form has been there for all to see and he continues to set the standards at the club all the goalkeepers have to aspire to," said manager Tony Pulis.
