Players struggling for first-team football at "bigger clubs" should move on and "earn their money", says West Brom boss Tony Pulis.

The Baggies have offered Manchester United about £15m for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who has played just 11 Premier League minutes this season.

Pulis said some players "prefer the protection" of a bigger club rather than moving to a team where they "have to work and play and earn their money".

West Brom have also been linked with Leicester City's Jeffrey Schlupp.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is feeling some heat after two top-flight defeats on the spin but he says he is "immune to excessive reactions".

The Frenchman, who is out of contract at the end of the season, said he continues to question himself "always".

"I'm not immune to critics," he added. "But immune to excessive reactions, yes.

"I've been long enough in the job to put that into perspective as people who love the club, who are really disappointed on Monday morning and get their frustration out. We have to live with that.

"It doesn't mean they are not ready to change their mind if we win the next game."

  3. Lawro's predictionspublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2016

Arsenal v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

Lawro is taking on You Me At Six singer Josh Franceschi for his Boxing Day predictions and he's gone for a 2-0 win for Arsenal.

"I think Arsenal will return to winning ways here - although they might have to grind out a win against West Brom, which is not something they have done too often this season," says Lawro.

"The Baggies were well beaten by Manchester United last weekend but they made life difficult for Chelsea when they lost at Stamford Bridge earlier in December and will be looking for a repeat of that performance, and a better result."

"After back-to-back defeats Arsenal must be dispirited, perhaps haunted by Christmases past when being part of a title race was a given.

"It should have been so different - the games at Everton and Manchester City were so firmly in Arsenal's control and so frivolously surrendered.

"Some fans are now simply craving their future Christmases to be spent without the man they still feel displays a too Scrooge-like tendency to penny-pinch.

"On current form it's possible that West Brom could finish higher than in any season since 1981."

Just like in the famous film Groundhog Day, where Bill Murray's character is stuck in a time loop, the same can be said of Arsenal.

It has become the norm that the Gunners threaten a league title assault only to fall apart at some stage of the campaign and end up having to settle for a top four spot.

Arsenal have lost two league games on the trot and questions are being asked about their character again. So, can they get their title challenge back on track against West Brom today?

The Baggies have won two and lost two of their last four top flight games and boss Tony Pulis doesn't historically see eye-to-eye with Wenger. Can he deliver another bodyblow to Arsenal's season? Let's find out...
