The already-booked Gaston Ramirez is subjected to cries of "off, off off" by some home fans after he goes in full-blooded on Ashley Barnes.

Referee Pawson rules it a mis-timed 50-50 and gives only a foul.

Correct decision, I would say.

Free-kick in a dangerous position for Boro here after Dean Marney handles on the edge of the Burnley area.

Ramirez is over it... but it's a horribly tame effort and Tom Heaton saves easily.

A few half-hearted penalty shouts from the home fans there as George Boyd went down with Calum Chambers in attendance, but the replay clearly showed there was no contact between the two at all, and in fairness to Boyd he did not claim there was.

Burnley have been the aggressors in the first half here - Valdes has had a fair bit to do. 

So the referee blows his whistle to bring to an end a scrappy half of football that Burnley just about edged. 

Victor Valdes had to make a couple of decent stops in the Boro goal but the best chance of the half perhaps went to the visitors when Cristhian Stuani flashed wide from 18 yards.
