Burnley 1-0 Sunderland

Burnley 1-0 Sunderland
Just the one shot on goal, which went in, and no corners. It might not make the longest of highlights packages on Match of the Day tonight. Still, Burnley fans will not care if it stays like this.
Burnley 1-0 Sunderland
And that is the first half.
This tweet sums up Sunderland's frustrations.
Burnley 1-0 Sunderland
Just when you think it can't get any worse for David Moyes and Sunderland, it does.
Striker Victor Anichebe is trying to track back and catch George Boyd down the left wing before the striker pulls up suddenly with what looks a hamstring injury.
He immediately signals to the bench that he is done. Sunderland do not have a replacement ready so end the half with 10 men. More injury woe for the Black Cats.
Burnley 1-0 Sunderland
It is getting feisty. Burnley's Dean Marney is booked for clattering into Fabio Borini.
It is the classic double combination of toe trodden on and a clash of knees. Ouch.
One booking for each side now.
Burnley 1-0 Sunderland
Sunderland's Billy Jones slides in and catches Stephen Ward. Rash and painful.
Ward needs treatment, while Jones is shown the yellow card. It is a costly booking as Sunderland will now be without the defender for the game against Liverpool on 2 January as that's his fifth booking of the season.
Burnley 1-0 Sunderland
Sunderland have looked a shambles at the back since Lamine Kone went off injured. Burnley's Scott Arfield is allowed to shoot unchallenged from outside the area but the radar is slightly off with the ball narrowly going past the post.
Burnley looking good value for their lead so far.
Burnley 1-0 Sunderland
By the way, that Andre Gray goal came from the first shot on target in the match.
Gray had gone 10 games without a goal but now has two in five days after also getting the winner against Middlesbrough on Boxing Day.
Burnley 1-0 Sunderland
It is nearly 2-0. Another fine delivery from right-back Matt Lowton finds Stephen Ward sliding in at the back post. He can't get a good enough contact on it though and can not direct it goalwards. Unlucky.
Burnley 1-0 Sunderland
Alex Bruce
Hull City defender on Final Score
A schoolboy error there, both centre-halves going for the same ball. Then the ball comes off John O'Shea and it's an easy finish.
Andre Gray (Burnley)
Disaster for Sunderland, and it is all their own doing. John O'Shea and Papy Djilobodji both challenge for the same ball, with it hitting O'Shea's shoulder and bouncing backwards.
The ball falls to Andre Gray who runs through and his shot is too powerful for Vito Mannone and the Clarets lead.
Burnley 0-0 Sunderland
Another moment of worry for David Moyes. Papy Djilobodji is holding his face after an accidental collision. He can continue though.
Burnley 0-0 Sunderland
We said Lamine Kone's injury was one to watch, and it is bad news for Sunderland. He is lying on the ground, holding his hip and shaking his head. He hits the ground in frustration and that is him done for the day.
Kone is meant to be heading off on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Ivory Coast soon, so it could be a double blow for the player.
He is replaced by another potential Afcon player, in the form of Gabon's Dider Ndong.
It means captain John O'Shea, who had started in a holding midfield role, now drops back into the defence.
Burnley 0-0 Sunderland
A half-chance for the hosts as Andre Gray looks to be through on goal but a heavy first touch loses the opportunity with his effort from a tight angle only hitting the side netting.
There is also a painful moment for Sunderland defender Lamine Kone who, in his attempt to block Gray's shot, slides into the advertising hoarding behind the goal.
The big defender can carry on, but he is limping. The last thing David Moyes would want is any more injuries to an already stretched squad. One to monitor.
Burnley 0-0 Sunderland
Another chance for Burnley, but again they do not register a shot on target. Matt Lowton's cross from the right-back position finds Ashley Barnes, but under pressure from a Sunderland defender, he can only head wide of Vito Mannone's goal.
The Italian goalkeeper has only had a couple of Checkatrade Trophy matches since his last Premier League appearance, a 2-1 home loss against Middlesbrough on 21 August.
But with Jordan Pickford out for at least six weeks it is a chance for Mannone to impress.
He has been a spectator so far though. And is again moments later with Andre Gray firing well over.
Burnley 0-0 Sunderland
Best described as scrappy so far. No efforts on target, with neither side being given much time on the ball. Frantic, but lacking quality so far.
Burnley 0-0 Sunderland
Burnley have picked up 20 points this season. Nineteen of them have come at home.

Burnley 0-0 Sunderland
A first sighter for Burnley and it falls to their Boxing Day match-winner Andre Gray. He is just outside the penalty area, but off balance he can only shoot off target. Nothing for either goalkeeper to do so far.
Burnley 0-0 Sunderland
An early chance for the visitors, but it is a disappointing finish from the returning Adnan Januzaj.
The ball falls to him on the edge of the penalty area, in the middle of the goal, but Januzaj balloons it well over the top. Some early 2017 shooting practice needed for the on-loan Manchester United midfielder.
Burnley 0-0 Sunderland
