  2. Glasgow City are miles betterpublished at 10:00 British Summer Time 24 October 2016

Glasgow City's domination of Scottish women's football has continued, with Scott Booth's side having clinched their 10th consecutive Premier League title.

It was secured by a 3-1 win over second-top Hibernian yesterday.

"This is a massive accomplishment for the club," said head coach Booth.

"There was huge pressure on us this season given the significance of what we could do, but these players continue to rise to every occasion and I am very proud of everyone."

  3. Heading 'bad for memory'published at 09:53 British Summer Time 24 October 2016

Our news colleagues have highlighted a major study by the University of Stirling that concluded that heading a football can significantly affect a player's brain function and memory for 24 hours.

Researchers said they had identified "small but significant changes in brain function" after players headed the ball 20 times.

Memory performance was reduced by between 41% and 67% following the routine heading practice, with the effects wearing off after 24 hours.

'Gap is a lot narrower' with Celtic

One of the major talking points after Celtic's 1-0 win over Rangers at Hampden is Ibrox boss Mark Warburton's insistence that "the so-called gap is a lot narrower than people think".

That, of course, is in reference - and comparison - to the last meeting with their Glasgow rivals, when Celtic won 5-1 in the Premiership.

Is that gap closing, as Warburton and the scoreline suggests, or is it the case, as some pundits are arguing, that the difference this time was that Celtic were merely less clinical at converting their dominance into goals?
