  2. 'A difficult day'published at 18:10 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

    Southampton 0-0 Liverpool

    Southampton

Southampton manager Claude Puel: “I think it was a good performance today. We played against a very good team with good players. It was difficult to play against them because they work very well with a lot of the ball. So it was important to keep discipline to get a point.

“Of course, we want to have more possession because we like control of the game, but it is difficult and so that was a good point for us.

“Difficult to work with group. We play every few days in different competitions. We have 15 international players and it is difficult to work without these players during the break. However, what we showed was a good spirit, attitude and discipline. We tried to play good football but it was difficult against this team."

  3. 'Not the best day in our life'published at 18:06 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

    Southampton 0-0 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told BBC Sport: "I’m quite happy with the second half. We knew it would be difficult today. They are an organised side. The first half was not bad, but it was not enough. It was good preparation for the second half because we were able to make a few changes in the way we played. We did much better and had chances and moments but did not score.

“Even then you need to fight for draw and that is what we did. We did not lose control which is easy to do after dominating. The attitude was really good. We could have won the game, but in the end I am happy with performance. It was an away game at Southampton and a good performance – with a clean sheet. So yes, happy.”

"(The table is tight) not only for us. That is good. All teams are the same. This league is tough and we are here because of this and we like it.

“Usually you lose in game like this, because body language is such you end doing something different and giving one chance away and they score.  When you are ready for work then you deserve the minimum of a draw. Not the best day in our life, but for sure not the worst.”

  4. 'His team-mates love him'published at 18:00 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Man City

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "I am so happy for Yaya Toure, he is a really nice guy. His weight is perfect now, there are no doubts about his quality. At the beginning we did not count on him, he would not be here, but he can play many positions. I am so happy for him and his family. We have one more man to help us achieve our targets.

"The last month and a half he was amazing in training, his behaviour is absolutely everything. His team mates love him. He is going to help us to rotate the team, we need that.

"Kompany has a problem with his head, he could not see well. You have to be careful."

More from Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew: "We gifted them two goals really and you can't do that. We had a good psychology and we could have had something out of the game.

"We are fighting, we showed that. Our recent run is really poor but the performances don't warrant that. We should be in the top three for set-pieces and we are probably in the bottom three."

Palace are skirting dangerously close to the relegation zone at the moment. Only a point separates them from 18th-placed Hull, who were beaten today at 19th-placed Sunderland (themselves now just three points behind Palace.

The Eagles have now gone 17 league games without keeping a clean sheet in the Premier League, last doing so against Everton in April.

  8. 'We are under pressure'published at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Man City

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew: "It was a tough result for us. For long periods we were very strong, very defensively sound. They subdued us a bit with world class defenders but we still caused them problems.

"The first goal is three errors and the second goal, we didn't get a message on to the pitch that we wanted. Little mistakes are costing us massively at the moment.

"Our midfield had the edge today. Yaya Toure has got two goals but Cabaye and Puncheon were top class.

"We deserved something from the game but you can't keep saying that. We need to get points. We have got games coming up that we have more chance of winning but we are under pressure. We needed a result today to give us a lift."

  9. 'We played the way I like'published at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2016

    Watford 2-1 Leicester

    Watford

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri told BBC Sport: "We got the win and I'm very happy. We played the football that I like my team to play and this time we were good enough to score.

"The way Roberto Pereyra played, not just the goal he scored, he ran the whole game and I am very happy with him.

"It was not easy, we know they are a good team. It was our fault with the penalty, in the last 15 or 20 minutes Leicester pressed a lot and we had to concentrate."
