  • Non-league Lincoln draw 2-2 at Championship Ipswich

  1. Postpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Everton 0-0 Leicester

Fair to say that our man Phil McNulty is not impressed by what is being served at Goodison. Let's hope the half-time food in the press room is more of a treat. Get down there sharpish Phil.

  2. A minor shock?published at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Rotherham 0-1 Oxford

Tears in the eyes for Oxford's Ryan Taylor, who scores against his boyhood club. His whole family supports Rotherham, and Taylor - who played for the Millers for six years - does not want to celebrate the goal.

  3. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Barrow 0-1 Rochdale

Barrow want a penalty as Byron Harrison surges into the area before tumbling under a challenge. The referee is having none of it, though.

We're just entering stoppage time at the end of the first half as Barrow press for an equaliser.

  4. goal

GOAL - Birmingham 1-1 Newcastlepublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Lukas Jutkiewicz (42 mins)

Ooops. Sorry Newcastle fans (see 15:43 entry). It was an enjoyable trip down the A1.

Birmingham are level as Lukas Jutkiewicz taps in Jonathan Ground's pinpoint cross. Could that be the catalyst for the Blues to win for the first time under Gianfranco Zola?

  5. CLOSE!published at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Sunderland 0-0 Burnley

It is anything but vintage stuff at the Stadium of Light but Sunderland create an opening, Javier Manquillo seeing sight of goal but from an angle he seems to get confused and musters neither a cross nor shot, the ball floating harmlessly out for a throw.

  6. 'A good finish'published at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Norwich City 0-1 Southampton

The corner was cleared originally but a nice ball was then drifted into the back post. Virgil van Dijk's marker was too focused on the ball and wasn't aware he'd lost his man. And a good finish by the Saints defender.

  7. Postpublished at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Birmingham 0-1 Newcastle

We've been passing judgement on all these empty stadiums around the country so, in the interests of balance, we must give a special mention to Newcastle fans.

About 4,600 of the Toon Army have travelled down to Birmingham today. So far they are being rewarded by Daryl Murphy's opener.

  8. Postpublished at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    West Brom 1-0 Derby

Derby rocking now, and West Brom could be 2-0 up. Matt Phillips, on the run again, leaves Jamie Hanson on the seat of his pants, and crosses low for James Morrison, who clears the bar from 12 yards. Very good chance that.

  9. CLOSE!published at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Stoke 0-1 Wolves

It's coming for Stoke! Again Marko Arnautovic opens up Wolves with a wonderful pass which Peter Crouch hooks over the top.

  10. MISSED PENALTYpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Rotherham 0-0 Oxford

Oxford waste a golden opportunity to take the lead against their Championship opponents. A foul on Ryan Taylor by Kirk Broadfoot gives them a penalty but home keeper Lewis Price guesses right to palm away Chris Maguire's spot-kick.

  11. 'The dream of drawing a big boy'published at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Sutton United 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

The prize today is massive. It's not just the hope, the dream, of drawing a big boy in the next round, but it's also the financial boost such a tie would bring.

This has been a good game so far, with Wimbledon beginning to assert themselves with a series of free-kicks won in advanced positions.

  12. Postpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Wigan 0-0 Nott'm Forest

Wigan are seeing most of the ball in this all-Championship tie against Nottingham Forest, but few saves of note at either end.

Jordi Gomez, an early substitute after an injury to Nick Powell, has shot over from close range for the Latics and team-mate Michael Jacobs has put an effort wide.

  14. Meanwhile, at the KCOM...published at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Hull 0-0 Swansea

Not sure how many of the empty seats at Hull's KCOM Stadium are because of the fan protest against the owners, but whatever the reason it doesn't look too clever. They closed one of the stands, such was the low attendance (see below).

  15. CLOSE!published at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Stoke 0-1 Wolves

Ah Stoke should be level! Ryan Shawcross is free at the far post but can only steer a header over the top.

  16. goal

GOAL - Brentford 4-1 Eastleighpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Tom Field (38 mins)

What a day for Tom Field. Having scored his first senior goal for the Bees earlier, he's now got a second to restore Brentford's three-goal lead.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Everton 0-0 Leicester

Finally some action at Goodison. But not in one of the goalmouths - just the touchline. Foxes striker Leonardo Ulloa limps off with a knock as Ahmed Musa sprints on in his place.

  18. goal

GOAL - Norwich 0-1 Southamptonpublished at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Virgil van Dijk (38 mins)

The visitors lead as Virgil van Dijk volleys in at the back post from Dusan Tadic's cross.

Southampton have had the better chances, can Norwich respond?

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Bolton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Loic Remy almost gives the visitors the lead, but his shot comes back off the woodwork.

Crystal Palace edging their way back into this match.

  20. Postpublished at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Hull 0-0 Swansea

Almost an opener for the home side. Sam Clucas spanks a half-volley goalwards, drawing out a top-class save from Swans keeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt.

That's woken up the sparse KCOM crowd. There are more empty seats than people remember as Hull fans boycott in protest against owners the Allams. And because Swans fans have refused to waste their time and money on a 570-mile round trip.
