    Everton 0-0 Leicester

Not much to warm up the Goodison crowd so far. Unless the home fans are cupping a warm beaker of soup. Or wearing a beer jacket.

Leicester debutant Wilfred Ndidi has a pop from distance but the on-target shot hits a home body in the box.

    Bolton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Did you know Loic Remy plays for Crystal Palace?

    No me neither.

Anyway, the Frenchman signed for the Eagles on loan from Chelsea in the summer and makes his debut today.

He has Palace's first chance of the game, but his first-time shot is pushed away by Bolton keeper Ben Alnwick.

  5. CLOSE!published at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Stoke 0-0 Wolves

Marko Arnautovic whips in a dangerous low cross and even though Peter Crouch is 6ft 7in tall he's not long enough to turn it in on the slide. Stoke looking decent.

    Bolton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Another chance for Bolton, they should have taken at least one of these chances and no doubt will come to rue them against the Premier League side.

This time Josh Vela whips in a lovely cross from the right, but Gary Madine cannot find the target with his header, despite being free inside the area.

Tom Lawrence is a good dribbler but the Lincoln defence made it too easy for him. Credit to Lawrence though, he slotted the ball through the keeper's legs from fully 15 yards out.

    Tom Field (17 mins)

Big moment for Brentford's Tom Field as he gets his first senior goal for the club. The 19-year-old fullback got away from his marker to head in Romaine Sawyers' cross.

Not looking great for upsets at the moment.

    Ipswich 1-1 Lincoln

Conference leaders Lincoln are playing really well at Portman Road, full of confidence.

    Wycombe 0-0 Stourbridge

How are the lowest ranked team in the competition getting on, I hear you cry! Promisingly.

Stourbridge - usually playing the likes of Marine and Spennymoor in the Northern Premier League - create the tie's best chance as Kayleden Brown's header is saved.

League Two promotion-chasers Wycombe not flexing their muscles yet.

    Sunderland 0-0 Burnley

The visitors should be ahead at the Stadium of Light as Sam Vokes is played through on goal, but the Welshman's shot is well saved by Vito Mannone.

Jack Rodwell starting for Sunderland today, which means they won't win.

The general consensus is that it's foggy at the Wham Stadium...

    Hull 0-0 Swansea

Swansea, under new boss Paul Clement, enjoy a good spell of pressure. Can they make it count? Not yet. Ki Sung-yeung forces Eldin Jakupovic into a smart save, then fires over moments later. Anyone got a quid on him for first scorer?

    Norwich 0-0 Southampton

Big day for Southampton keeper Harry Lewis. The 19-year-old is making his first start for the Saints and has just produced his first save of the game, a routine catch from Martin Olsson's free-kick.

    Birmingham 0-1 Newcastle

Not all good news for Rafa Benitez. Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic crumples to the ground and is taken off on a stretcher. His afternoon is over, hopefully it is nothing too serious.

This is fascinating, knowing the backgrounds of many of these Sutton United players. Remember, they are part-timers, training two mornings a week whereas most National League sides are full-time.

So these men are particularly committed, juggling football with another job and still wanting to make a difference on the pitch.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 7 January 2017

    Bolton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni is making a club record 389th appearance today and he is keeping his side in it at the moment after making a brilliant save from James Henry's dart into the box.

Minutes later, Speroni denies the same player again after his shot from outside the box.

Looks weird seeing Sam Allardyce sitting in the away dugout - chomping on a chewing gum -  at the Macron (formerly Reebok) Stadium.

    Yoann Barbet pen (9 mins)

The Championship side take the lead from the penalty spot through Yoann Barbet.

Eastleigh had started well but gave away the spot kick when former Arsenal keeper Graham Stack brought down Lasse Vibe and Barbet made no mistake.
