Man Utd v Sunderland (15:00 GMT)

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is on the bench for Manchester United today. That'll please the home fans as he was belatedly hitting his stride before injury cut short his momentum a week or two ago. He is taking no chances with the Mancunian weather. He is snooded up to the nostrils.

Excessive reaction? Or justified criticism? Whatever your point of view, Arsene Wenger has been getting loads of it.

His Arsenal side have dropped to fourth in the table, having slipped nine points behind leaders Chelsea following successive 2-1 defeats at Everton and Manchester City.

"I'm not immune to critics," said the Gunners boss. "But immune to excessive reactions, yes.

"I've been long enough in the job to put that into perspective as people who love the club, who are really disappointed on Monday morning and get their frustration out. We have to live with that.

"It doesn't mean they are not ready to change their mind if we win the next game."

The last time I was at the Liberty Stadium for Match of the Day was the 5-4 win for Swansea over Crystal Palace, a match that can be described many ways, but is probably best summed up as 'bonkers'.

A repeat of a nine-goal thriller is probably not on the cards, but West Ham have taken seven points from their last three matches; a significant improvement after a poor run.

Swansea's defence is porous and they've not coped with Salomon Rondon and Alvaro Negredo in their last two matches. West Ham's Andy Carroll will surely be eagerly awaiting the trip to South Wales.

Man Utd v Sunderland (15:00 GMT)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

The highest-scoring meeting of these clubs came on a Boxing Day - a 5-3 Sunderland win at Old Trafford in 1950.

Having found their rhythm and - in Jose Mourinho's mind - overdue reward for recent performances, United could be the ones to get five this time against a depleted visiting squad.

I'd be surprised if they did though. Sunderland have improved enormously of late, and showed in restricting Chelsea to one goal this month that what they lack in quality numbers they make up for in determination.

A win for David Moyes on his first return to United as a visiting boss since leaving in 2014 would surely be a Christmas wish too far though.

Living in the East Midlands, I have several friends who support Leicester City.

A few will receive books celebrating the Foxes' title success as a Christmas present from me. After all, there are plenty on the shelves to choose from! And why not? It was a remarkable story that even now takes some believing.

Some of those friends fear there will be a painful sting in this tale - relegation come May. As sequels go it would certainly be another bestseller: 'Champions to Championship: Where Did It All Go Wrong?'.

Personally I can't see it happening. There's too much quality and character in Claudio Ranieri's side. Strong at home, I certainly expect Leicester to get the better of an Everton side who have lost their last four away games and will be glad to see the back of 2016.

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton

Chelsea are hoping history repeats itself this season, because every other time they've been top of the Premier League at Christmas, they've gone on to win it.

Antonio Conte's team are clear at the summit thanks to a stunning run of 11 wins in a row. One more against Bournemouth will set a new club record.

You may remember the Cherries won this fixture last season thanks to a late goal.

They also put four past Liverpool the last time I saw them play, but away from home they've only managed to win one of the last 10.

The best news for Bournemouth fans is that Chelsea will be without two key players in Diego Costa and N'Golo Kante.

    Burnley v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

    Alistair Mann
    Match of the Day commentator

It's by no means a local derby, yet the meeting of Burnley and Middlesbrough has evolved to become a highly competitive duel.

Stoked up by off-field comments, external and budgetary comparisons, the two have now become unlikely adversaries with their many recent meetings in the Championship pivotal, as each has sought to scupper the other's quest for promotion.

Having both achieved that aim in May, they're now acutely aware of the importance of beating each other, in their battle to remain among the game's elite.

It's not simply an attempt to avoid the Boxing Day sales which has prompted both sets of supporters to sell out their tickets.

After back-to-back defeats Arsenal must be dispirited, perhaps haunted by Christmases past when being part of a title race was a given.

It should have been so different - the games at Everton and Manchester Citywere so firmly in Arsenal's control and so frivolously surrendered.

Some fans are now simply craving their future Christmases to be spent without the man they still feel displays a too Scrooge-like tendency to penny-pinch.

On current form it's possible that West Brom could finish higher than in any season since 1981.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman also makes four changes from the side which lost 1-0 to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

Goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg and midfielder James McCarthy both miss out through injury and are replaced by Joel Robles and Gareth Barry. Ross Barkley and Enner Valencia drop to the bench with Mason Holgate and Kevin Mirallas preferred by Koeman, who looks like he will play three at the back.

Everton XI: Robles, Baines, Funes Mori, Williams, Holgate, Coleman, Barry, Gueye, Mirallas, Lennon, Lukaku

The Foxes make two other enforced changes as defenders Christian Fuchs and Robert Huth also miss out through bans, while Riyad Mahrez is rested and starts on the bench. Marcin Wasilewski, Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray all come into the starting line-up.

Leicester XI: Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan, Wasilewski, Chilwell, Gray, King, Amartey, Albrighton, Okazaki, Slimani
