    Gent 0-0 Tottenham

Daniel Milicevic floats in a corner which they fail to clear.

It is popped back into the box for left-back Samuel Gigot and with the ball on his weaker right foot, he shanks an ugly effort wide of goal.

The Gent fans go bonkers as their side earn a corner. How loud will it be if they score?

The home team are playing with confidence, not mirroring where they are in the Belgian league. They're going for it.

Patience will be the key for Spurs. With the Intensity Gent have shown, it's whether they can maintain that and stay in this game.

  4. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Gent 0-0 Tottenham

Need sunglasses to look at the Gent players, their bright yellow kit is hurting my eyes.

  5. CLOSE!published at 14 mins

    Gent 0-0 Tottenham

Spurs are not afraid of shooting and it is another long-range shot.

This time Harry Kane is the one who attempts a curling effort from outside the area, but it is comfortable for Lovre Kalinic.

I say comfortable, he didn't catch the ball cleanly but luckily no Spurs player was on hand to tuck in the rebound.

First chance of the game goes to Spurs and they almost take the lead.

Midfielder Dele Alli is found around 30 yards from goal and with the Gent defenders inviting a shot, Alli obliges with a thumping, low drive which goes narrowly wide of goal.

Gent goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic was scrambling to get to it and I'm not sure he had it covered.

Warning signs for the home side.

One thing that we can say is that the Gent midfielders are really trying to close Mousa Dembele down quickly. He's the link through to the front players and they don't want him to dictate this game.

  8. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Gent 0-0 Tottenham

"No, no, no, no," says Gent boss Hein Vanhaezebrouck as a throw-in goes against his side.

With the frame of a heavyweight wrestler, you will not want to give too many decisions against him.

    Ambitious from Danijel Milicevic.

The Gent man attempts a long-range drive from the free-kick but cannot get his effort past the wall.

    Hugo Lloris untroubled as yet.

    Gent 0-0 Tottenham

Spurs already look like they are getting frustrated as Eric Dier makes a clumsy challenge on Jeremy Perbet.

Free-kick for Gent around 35 yards out...

  12. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Gent 0-0 Tottenham

Spurs break for the first time through Kyle Walker with a trademark gallop down the right.

He plays the ball into the feet of Harry Kane on the edge of the Gent box, but two home defenders are quickly in to nudge the Englishman off the ball.

One Gent fan is rhythmically beating at a drum in the stands. A fantastic atmosphere in the stadium.

    Gent 0-0 Tottenham

Dressed in a fluorescent yellow kit, Gent have made a bright start.

Moses Simon finds space on the right-hand side of the box and pulls the ball back to Danijel Milicevic on the edge of the area, but the Bosnian completely misses his kick and Spurs are able to scramble clear.

He celebrates his 53rd birthday today.

Imagine what he will do if they win. Cameras at the ready.

Both teams come into the game off the back of a defeat, with Spurs having lost 2-0 at Liverpool last Saturday, on the same day that Gent were beaten 1-0 at home by Eupen.

Spurs have never won a game in Belgium, having drawn two and lost two of their previous four fixtures.

"We are Gent and we are not afraid of anybody," said boss Hein Vanhaezebrouck.

"Spurs are a team that plays very good football and has a lot of quality in every line. It will be a very hard task for us."
