That opening goal from Gael Bigirimana was only his second in 74 appearances for Coventry.

It wasn't a bad time to pop up with a rare goal, was it?

    Coventry 1-0 Oxford

Oxford captain John Lundstram has an excellent chance to equalise, but he can't get a meaningful contact to a knockdown in the penalty area.

The team in yellow are building some momentum, but League One's bottom club Coventry are holding out for now.

They may have fallen behind early on at Wembley, but is this statistic a positive omen for Oxford?

Carlisle beat Brentford 1-0 to make it second time lucky in 2011, having been beaten 4-1 by Southampton the previous year.

Ryan Ledson, the EFL's Young Player of the Month for February, would probably have been booked on another day for his foul on Kyel Reid.

But the Oxford midfielder escapes without punishment, and Coventry's set-piece into the box comes to nothing.

    Coventry 1-0 Oxford

Coventry, having just taken the lead, need to be on their guard to prevent an immediate Oxford equaliser.

The U's threaten from a corner, but Curtis Nelson is beaten to the ball by Jordan Turnbull's acrobatic clearance.

There are arms and legs everywhere in the Coventry end at Wembley - the Sky Blues lead!

There's a kind bounce inside the box and midfielder Gael Bigirimana sidefoots neatly into the corner from close range.

But for a wayward long-range shot from Coventry midfielder Gael Bigirimana, there's been little goalmouth action in the first 10 minutes at Wembley.

Sky Blues fans will be hoping a victory today, which will provide some solace during what's been the toughest of seasons for them.

They're almost certain to be relegated to the fourth tier in the next couple of weeks, while there have been constant protests against owners Sisu.

No signs of anything like that so far today.

It's been a season of contrasting fortunes, in the league at least, for Coventry and Oxford.

The Sky Blues are contemplating relegation to League Two, while Oxford still harbour play-off hopes.

Nothing much doing in the opening minutes.

Both sides should be full of confidence - Oxford thrashed Bury 5-1 in the league on Tuesday, while Coventry have won their last two league matches.
