How did that stay out?

He pulls the ball back across the six-yard box to Jesse Lingard, but home defender Ivan Obradovic does just enough to put the United man off and the ball rolls away to safety.

Anderlecht pose so much threat in that final third.

Playmaker Youri Tielemans sets free striker Lukasz Teodorczyk, who turns Antonio Valencia, but his low strike from inside the penalty area is comfortable for Sergio Romero to push away.

United's backline is creaking.

The Stretford End arise as their side earn an early corner in the second half, but Anderlecht manage to get it clear.

It was a positive start by United, a great start with the goal but then Marcos Rojo went off and Anderlecht took control of the game. 

Richard: Where have the #MUFC, external from Sunday gone? This is a shadow of that team. Get Herrera on for some energy and passion.
