Toot toot. Spanish referee Alberto Undiano Mallenco blows his whistle to bring an end to an extremely entertaining first half at Old Trafford.

Another chance for Anderlecht, they should be leading now.

Youri Tielemans's low cross in the Manchester United area pings around and falls at the feet of goalscorer Sofiane Hanni, but the Belgian side's skipper takes too much of a heavy touch in going round Sergio Romero and the ball rolls out of play.

A better touch there and they were in again.

Sofiane Hanni and Leander Dendoncker are dictating play for Anderlecht, you don't see Michael Carrick and Paul Pogba doing that for Manchester United.

United go from back to front in a matter of seconds.

Paul Pogba finds Henrikh Mkhitaryan with a shoulder high pass and the Armenian leaps to the sky like a karate expert to control the ball and take it past Kara Mbodji in one motion.

But he cannot match his skill with a finish, blazing a left-footed strike into the stand behind Ruben Martinez's goal.

Excellent from Luke Shaw, as he breaks clear into the Anderlecht half, but his right-footed shot from the angle is straight into the hands of goalkeeper Ruben Martinez.

Shaw showing boss Jose Mourinho that he can use his own initiative.

    Good lad.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic manhandled by Uros Spajic, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan's quickly-taken free-kick finds Jesse Lingard in an offside position.

    Intelligent idea, but ultimately wasted.

Manchester United have gone right off the boil after a good start and have allowed Anderlecht to build up momentum and confidence. Did complacency set in?

They have been punished as the Belgians now have their away goal. If Anderlecht's fans were noisy before, you should hear them now.

Paul Pogba with a strike from 30 yards out...high, wide and not so handsome.

Not the best effort from the world's most expensive player.

John Dunthorne: United as usual once they are in front go casual. It must be arrogance, have not seen front 5 since goal. They could lose this

Rashida: I fancy Anderlecht tonight. They just seem to have an extra gear.

Mwalimo Pedro: Come on United! And we want to play in the Champion's League with this kind of sloppiness? No way.

United are in a fight now and it will be interesting to see how they respond.

Marcus Rashford makes a pacey, positive sprint down the left-wing but his cross turns into a shot at the front post which is pushed away by Ruben Martinez.

Quiet around Old Trafford...apart from the boisterous Anderlecht supporters in one pocket of the ground.

It's scrappy, but the Belgians will not mind.

United fail to clear their lines, had been given a couple of warnings but find themselves pegged back at home again.

Youri Tielemans rattled the crossbar with a left-footed strike that took a deflection and wrong-footed Sergio Romero.

The ball falls nicely to Lukasz Teodorcyzk eight yards out, but with the big striker unable to sort out his feet, skipper Sofiane Hanni takes control of the situation by lashing the ball into the net.

We are now all square on aggregate.
