Match of the Day commentator
All I can say is Arsenal did what they had to do. But results didn't go for them. After the final whistle went, Arsene Wenger looked naturally down in the dumps. The 20-year ever-present record in the Champions League is over.
Their season almost now depends on what happens in the FA Cup final on Sunday.
My thoughts on Wenger? I think he will stay with a reconstructed backroom.
Liverpool 3-0 Middlesbrough
Liverpool
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports: "Exceptionally good. It is a long season and when our timing got better we were unbelievably dangerous. I could not imagine this morning it would be like this. I couldn't think it would be really tight until the end. I am really happy about this. I think people deserve this opportunity for us to be able to qualify for the Champions League.
"I asked for the results at half time and not before, so I had no idea about the Arsenal score. You have no influence and again the boys delivered.
"We are Liverpool. We have to deliver. We did it again. We have to improve and we will but for now, today, it is a big relief.
"A club like Liverpool needs to be in the Champions League. Other clubs have the same target so it is not easy to be there consistently. I am proud of the boys, we worked a lot and everything is good. Now we have to build on it."
Liverpool 3-0 Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough boss Steve Agnew, speaking to Sky Sports: "It has been a difficult season. We have not won enough games or scored enough goals.
"We have a summer now to reflect. there will be lots of talk and discussions about how we ended up in the position we did and how we get back.
"I am sure there will be talks taking place over the next couple of weeks and we will see where we go."
Chelsea 5-1 Sunderland

Watford 0-5 Manchester City
Manchester City
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola: "We were under a lot of pressure. Congratulations to Chelsea and to Tottenham, we are so glad to be third.
"Next season Arsenal cannot be in the Champions League, it shows it is complicated.
"We made good things during the season. You are judged on results. The gap is too big, we have to play better to be close to them. We are going to try.
"It is not a club with history of playing in Europe like United or Arsenal. But now we are there five or six years and now we can try to close the gap on the elite.
"The best team in Europe will be at the Etihad next season. I don't know what we need to add. This is one of the best groups I have ever trained, they never gave up. It was a pleasure to be with them."
Watford 0-5 Manchester City
Troy Deeney is down to just his shorts as he throws the rest of his kit into the crowd. Plenty of fans have stayed to give Watford a round of applause. They were very poor today but never really in any relegation danger.
I can't see Walter Mazzarri out there. Perhaps wise to give it a wide berth...
Arsenal 3-1 Everton
The Arsenal players have hung around in the centre circle to applaud a tribute to the Arsenal fans who have passed away this season.
A lot of the Gunners fans have vacated their seats already, though. It's a pretty sombre affair at the Emirates.
Hull City 1-7 Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham's Golden Boot winner Harry Kane: "It's almost perfect, we wanted that clean sheet badly for Hugo Lloris.
"To win 7-1 away from home is a great end to a great season for us.
"It's massive to win the Golden Boot again, I said to retain it would be special with the injuries I've had but to score 29 goals in 30 games is something I feel proud of.
"Finishing the season with seven goals in two games is perfect, hopefully I can continue it at the start of next season. When you look at the players behind us, we have a fantastic team.
"We are delighted with the way we finished."

For me, the story of the day is ...
Tottenham are going forward, Arsenal are going backwards.

I don't think it's an end of an era. Wenger will stay and there's still a chance of winning the FA Cup.
Arsenal played very well for 75 minutes, down to 10 men, but it was too little too late.

Liverpool 3-0 Middlesbrough
'The boys are back in town' is being pumped through the speakers at Anfield as Liverpool secure their return to the Champions League.
For 44 minutes, though, Liverpool fans' nerves were shredded.
Southampton 0-1 Stoke
Burnley 1-2 West Ham
Arsenal 3-1 Everton
Arsenal end with a victory but they will not be playing in the Champions League next season for the first time in 20 years.
Watford 0-5 Manchester City
Manchester City
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany: "We showed in moments how much quality there is in this team and what the standard should be. I believe that you finish the season the way you want to start the next one.
"I'm really happy to score and get a clean sheet. My season was dead and buried early on but every minute is worth fighting for. I'm really happy to be back and I look forward to next season."

For Arsenal, not getting fourth spot means they may well lose Ozil and Sanchez.
Chelsea 5-1 Sunderland
All over! A record-breaking 30th Premier League win this season for the title-winners.
Pure dominance.
