Tom Davies has been outstanding, him and Barkley.

It was a great run from Coleman from full-back and then it is not a clinical finish, just hit it as hard as you can.

    Seamus Coleman

You can't say it hasn't been coming.

With Palace down to 10 men - Jeffrey Schlupp off the pitch with an injury - Everton are allowed to continue and pile the pressure on the Palace back line.

The ball comes to Tom Davies and he picks out Coleman with a defence-splitting pass. The Irish full-back advances and blasts a high finish beyond Wayne Hennessey.

Surely that's all three points for the visitors.

  5. Great save!published at 78 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton

A needless foul from Leighton Baines presented Palace with a good free-kick chance from the left channel, and when the ball was swung over it was Scott Dann rising highest to thump a header towards goal but Joel Robles made a good save.

78 minutes gone and Palace have their first shot on target.

Jason Puncheon has been quiet for the hosts today but he's just popped up with a shot from 20 yards that was always too high.

    Better from Palace.

And immediately Ademola Lookman is into the action, the 19-year-old - who scored the Everton's fourth goal against Man City last weekend - firing in a low shot that Wayne Hennessy was right behind.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:28 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton

    Changes for both sides here.

For the hosts, Yohan Cabaye makes way for Joe Ledley, while for the visitors it's Ademola Lookman on for Kevin Mirallas.

Wayne Hennessey saves yet again. Ross Barkley, again the man looking to make things happen in the Everton midfield, creates a couple of yards of space and sets his sights from 20 yards but it was a routine stop in the end for the Palace goalkeeper.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton

Loic Remy has been a willing runner today but he's clearly lacking a bit of match practice and goes off for a rest. Lee Chung-yong comes on.

Now Romelu Lukaku goes close for Everton with a header over the bar from Seamus Coleman's shot.

    Palace pegged back right now.

  13. CLOSE!published at 55 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton

Ross Barkley has been very good today and he nearly breaks the deadlock with a surging run from midfield that ended with a shot flashing just wide of the left-hand post.

Really good direct running from the England man.

Seamus Coleman takes heed of my earlier warning and duly fires in a shot from the edge of the area.

Wayne Hennessey saves again, albeit at the second attempt.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton

Hmm, we're the only game without a goal so far today and moving ill-advisedly into last-on-Match-of-the-Day territory.

    Not on my watch.

Come on you chaps. Let's have a goal.

Tom Davies plays a great pass to release Ross Barkley down the left, and the England man flashes a low drive across the face of the Palace goal.

Everton still knocking on the door.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton

A pretty even first half with both teams hitting the woodwork.

Palace's Wayne Hennessey has been much the busier goalkeeper, however, with two good saves to deny Kevin Mirallas and Ramiro Funes Mori.

Don't forget Swansea's earlier shock win over Liverpool has dropped Palace into the relegation zone, so there's a reason - if they needed one - to come out on the front foot in the second half.

  20. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton

Just a couple of minutes to the break.

Palace are coming into this a little bit more but without carving out clear-cut chances.

They remain without a shot on target this half, although that stat completely ignores the fact that they were unlucky to see Benteke's header hit the bar.
