And immediately Ademola Lookman is into the action, the 19-year-old - who scored the Everton's fourth goal against Man City last weekend - firing in a low shot that Wayne Hennessy was right behind.

Ross Barkley has been very good today and he nearly breaks the deadlock with a surging run from midfield that ended with a shot flashing just wide of the left-hand post.

Really good direct running from the England man.

A pretty even first half with both teams hitting the woodwork. 

Palace's Wayne Hennessey has been much the busier goalkeeper, however, with two good saves to deny Kevin Mirallas and Ramiro Funes Mori.

Don't forget Swansea's earlier shock win over Liverpool has dropped Palace into the relegation zone, so there's a reason - if they needed one - to come out on the front foot in the second half.
