Everton were brilliant against Manchester City. Romelu Lukaku keeps scoring and has a good record against Palace. Teenager Tom Davies was scintillating.

Ronald Koeman's kids can be a growing force. Their energy will be difficult for Palace to contain.

Forget the midweek FA Cup win over Bolton, Crystal Palace are in dire trouble.

The arrival of Sam Allardyce hasn't brought a new manager 'bounce effect'. One league win in 15 is alarming. Twenty seven points from their last 38 league games is clear relegation form.

Their run-in is sinister too, facing the top five clubs in their final nine matches.

Palace make two changes from their last league outing, which ended in a 3-0 loss at West Ham. In come Loic Remy and new signing Jeffrey Schlupp, with Andros Townsend and Joe Ledley making way.

Crystal Palace XI: Hennessey, Tomkins, Delaney, Dann, Ward, Puncheon, McArthur, Cabaye, Schlupp, Remy, Christian Benteke. Subs: Speroni, Flamini, Townsend, Lee, Ledley, KaiKai, Kelly.

Everton are unsurprisingly unchanged from the 4-0 win over Manchester City, meaning recent signing Morgan Schneiderlin must again be content with a place on the bench.

Everton XI: Robles, Holgate, Ashley Williams, Funes Mori, Coleman, Davies, Barry, Barkley, Baines, Mirallas, Lukaku. Subs: Schneiderlin, Jagielka, McCarthy, Valencia, Oviedo, Stekelenburg, Lookman.

  6. Brrr, it's a bit nippy outpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

Crystal Palace v Everton (15:00 GMT)

    Afternoon,

Fair to say it was a bit brisk in the south-east last night with temperatures plunging to around minus six and accounting for games at Crawley, Southend, Charlton and Leyton Orient.

But I'm pleased to say the undersoil heating at Selhurst Park has manfully coped with the parky conditions and we have a game to look forward to in around 30 minutes from now.

And it's a glorious, sun-dappled day to boot. Corking conditions for some footy.
