He flings himself acrobatically at an Alvaro Negredo knock down, but it sails wide.

Another great, driving run from Adama Traore as he turns on the pace to take Middlesbrough forward. 

The ball breaks right for Patrick Bamford, but his lofted cross his is easily gathered by Darren Randolph.

We're seeing another January arrival take to the pitch for Middlesbrough.

Adam Forshaw makes way as Boro throw caution to the wind in the shap e of Rudy Gestede.

West Ham greet that substitution by bringing on James Collins to strengthen their backline.

A first bit of attacking intent from the Hammers for a long while ends in Jonathan Calleri shooting wide.

Manuel Lanzini skips forwards and plays an intricate one-two before lifting a ball into the substitute's path, but Calleri volleys wide.

Well Adama Traore delights and frustrates in equal measure. One minute whizzing beyond defenders, the next taking his eye of the ball and letting a pass slip under his foot.

Boro go direct this time and Darren Randolph and Sam Byram make a right mess of the deep delivery, clattering into each other as the ball trickles away for a corner.

An orange-clad Randolph makes amends from the corner though, punching clear.

A change for the hosts - it's new signing Patrick Bamford on for Cristhian Stuani.

Since those two opportunities immediately after the break, West Ham have offered very little going forward.

Especially since Andy Carroll went off. 

It's Middlesbrough looking the more likely to make something happen, but that was the case in the first half until Carroll popped up with his second.

Middlesbrough are content to knock it around, until the ball reaches Adama Traore.

As soon as the 20-year-old takes possession he comes to life, looking to twist and weave his way through the sea of white shirts in front of him.

But it doesn't come off this time, and Aitor Karanka has a look towards his bench. Time for reinforcements?

Adama Traore has switched to the left in this second half and he's now giving Sam Byram and Sofiane Feghouli the run around.

He scoots down the wing and the cuts back to deliver a cross, which is blocked by Feghouli's arm right on the edge of the box.

Adam Clayton dinks it into the box, but eventually West Ham scramble it away.

Boro win a free-kick on the edge of the box and it's Adam Forshaw to take right-footed, but he shoots over.

Slaven Bilic says Andy Carroll has done enough for his side today, and withdraws the two-goal centre forward for Jonathan Calleri.

So close for Middlesbrough, as Aaron Creswell's blushes are spared.

Alvaro Negredo pulls a ball across goal and the West Ham left-back goes to hook it clear, only to smash it straight into the onrushing Cristhian Stuani.

It loops off the bar and down to Winston Reid, who calmly chests the ball back to keeper Darren Randolph.

How long until we see one of Boro's new signings?

Strikers Rudy Gestede and Patrick Bamford are on the bench and with things having gone a little quiet at the Riverside, could they be the answer for Aitor Karanka?

Calum Chambers is at the heart of everything productive Middlesbrough do.

He pinches the ball in the West Ham half and drives towards the penalty box before firing an unconvincing effort well wide.

He has scored this season, but that goal came for parent club Arsenal against Liverpool.

Boro do find a way through this time as Adam Traore gets down the left flank and whips a ball towards the penalty spot.

Marten de Roon attacks it, gets a firm header on goal and West Ham keeper Darren Randolph is forced to push is behind with an outstretched palm.

West Ham have so many bodies back behind the ball now it's proving impossible for Boro to break them down. 

Calum Chambers curls in a delightful ball that nearly picked out Alvaro Negredo, but Winston Reid is there to flick it behind.

Meanwhile, Mark Noble won't be able to run that one off. Edimilson Fernandes the man to replace him.

Mark Noble looks in pain. The West Ham skipper was clattered by Bernardo after the ball looked to be on its way to him, only to deflect off the referee to Andy Carroll.

The Middlesbrough man was already in full flight...

Noble is back up and hobbling around, though.

And another big chance for the Hammers early in this second half. That Middlesbrough defence doesn't seem to have come out after the break.

Andy Carroll plays provider this time, taking the ball down and slipping a pass through to Manuel Lanzini, who goes one-on-one with Victor Valdes but sends a weak shot into the keeper's arms.

Good chance early on for the visitors as Sam Byram gets the down the right and puts a ball across for Michail Antonio, who heads over.

The West Ham forward missed early in the first half too, that time on the volley.

Right then, time for the second 45 at the Riverside.

Can Middlesbrough turn this one around? Or will the Hammers make it five Premier League wins in their last seven games?
