A few damning match stats to pass on to Sunderland fans.

They have had two shot and one on target.

Sunderland have only had seven touches of the ball inside the box and Jermain Defoe has only two of those.

Two goals in six minutes have put West Brom firmly in control.

It was a tale of two volleys - Darren Fletcher's on the turn was good but I think Chris Brunt's thunderbolt might just edge it.

Seb Larsson takes the free-kick but it is straight onto the head of James Morrison.  

Jermain Defoe is always a danger and he tries to prod home a shot. 

Sunderland need a few more Defoes if they have any chance of getting back into this.

Matt Phillips then tries to make amends, losing his marker, rolling away and unleashing a shot which Vito Mannone just manages to tip round the post.

West Brom should be ahead.

Nacer Chadli puts the ball on a plate for Salomón Rondón who heads towards goal, but instead of going in, it hits teammate Matt Phillips and goes out for a goalkick.

Jermain Defoe is fouled by Darren Fletcher and wins a free-kick.

Seb Larrson takes it but it is cleared by West Brom.

Allan Nyom then shows how you should not cross the ball, lofting it high into the air for Vito Mannone to catch easily.  Some of the play has been poor by both sides today.
