    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Dire cross from Zaha rather summing up Palace so far. They've been on the front foot for most of the game but without much end product. And even when they've created chances, they've missed them - James Tomkins the worst culprit.

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Bryan Oviedo and Wilfried Zaha are having a proper battle on Palace's right. The debutant has taken a very firm but fair approach to dealing with the winger's pace.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 32 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Before the corner is taken, Wilfried Zaha is shown a yellow card for dissent.

Likely he was having a moan about how many times he's been hacked down but that's a bit silly to get himself in the book too.

Nothing doing from the corner as Sunderland clear.

  4. CLOSE!published at 31 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Great defending from Lamine Kone at the back post as he denies Christian Benteke a header on goal from close range.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 30 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Clumsy challenge from Adnan Januzaj on Joe Ledley and he's shown a yellow.

Januzaj has a moan but it's a clear caution.

  6. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Bryan Oviedo climbs aboard the showboat but then immediately bails on it as he beats his man only to check back on the left.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 26 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Yohan Cabaye hasn't been right since he got mullered in the first minute by Seb Larsson and he finally limps off to be replaced by Joe Ledley.

Adnan Januzaj then has a shot but Wayne Hennessey easily holds on.

  8. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Vito Mannone makes his first real save and it's a comfortable one as Christian Benteke tries to beat him from distance but no real menace on the shot.

  9. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Zaha is on the floor again. No foul this time.

Looks like Joe Ledley is about to come on for Yohan Cabaye, who was clattered in the first minute by Seb 'The Enforcer' Larsson.

We want to see more of the quality that Palace have. We know they have great players, we know they can play good football but they aren't performing.

I think they're letting Sam Allardyce down a little bit at the moment.

  11. CLOSE!published at 21 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Horror miss from James Tomkins. It's lovely play in the build up from Palace as they work the ball to Damien Delaney who stands one up to the back post. Tomkins has a clear header, two yards out but contrives to nod it wide.

Big Sam throws his hands up in disgust.

  12. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Seb Larsson is a lucky, lucky boy. He clips Zaha's ankle as the winger beat him for pace yet again but Andre Marriner chooses just to warn him.

    Final warning.

  13. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Bit brighter and better from Palace as they force another corner...Cabaye's delivery flies through the area, finding its way to Zaha, who falls but Andre Marriner isn't even slightly interested in the penalty appeal.

  14. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

Lamine Kone becomes the first player besides Jermain Defoe in the Sunderland starting XI to score for the Black Cats.

Their previous other source of goals is getting roundly booed every time he touches the ball. And even when he doesn't - Patrick van Aanholt fails to keep in a searching pass as the jeers ring out.

Sam Pougher: Sunderland's goal should have been disallowed. Hennessey was fouled

Wale Ibraheem: A very big big big goal for Sunderland. The relegation battle suddenly brings a new dimension.

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

There's been almost nothing but shouts of "goal" in the office since the 15:00 GMT games started. Mad scenes in the Premier League today.

This one seems almost sedate with just the one goal so far.

Bryan Oviedo is the latest Sunderland player to foul Wilfried Zaha.

  17. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderland

A corner drops to Patrick van Aanholt who belts it very high over the bar to the utter delight of the travelling Sunderland support.

There's absolutely no chance that is a foul. Back in the day, if you were going into a 50/50 challenge, you knew you were coming out second best. Here, Hennessey just drops the ball!

GOAL - Crystal Palace 0-1 Sunderlandpublished at 9 mins

    Lamine Kone

The defender signed by Sam Allardyce comes back to haunt the Palace boss.

Seb Larsson floats in a free-kick that Kone gets his head on, Wayne Hennessey comes to punch but gets in a tangle with Billy Jones and Kone reacts quickest to the loose ball to steer it in.

Hint of a foul perhaps from Jones on Hennessey? In reality, it's poor defending from Palace and a bit weak from Hennessey.

  20. CLOSE!published at 7 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Sunderland

That man Jermain Defoe is played in on the right and holds off Scott Dann to fire in a decent effort under pressure, drawing a solid save from Wayne Hennessey.

Sunderland then conspire to produce one of the worst corners you'll ever see and Palace easily clear.
