While it remains 1-0 Watford have a chance yet the visitors are struggling to carve out chances. Zarate roams forward but then gives away possession just outside the United box. Frustrating.

United start the second half as they finished the first - on the attack. Anthony Martial, who has impressed on his return to the team, shoots just wide of the far post with Heurelho Gomes stretching.

Watford have made a change at the start of the second half. Miguel Britos has not reappeared, and Daryl Janmaat is on. Jose Holebas has dropped to left-back with that change, Janmaat slotting in to the left side of midfield.

We're back under way. United are 45 minutes away from a ninth Premier League win in 16 games.

Watford have got to do a lot of talking and reorganising at the interval. 

It's been great by Manchester United, and the chances are there for a second and a third. Mata and Pogba are the stars. Were it not for Gomes, Watford would be done, beaten, on the bus and heading home.

Lots of wonderful wing play from Manchester United. It's all United, and to be honest they deserve a second goal before half-time. If they do get a second then it's game over.

United are ending the half strongly. Lovely passing just outside the Watford area before Henrikh Mkhitaryan lets fly but Gomes saves comfortably.

Watford are not happy. Etienne Capoue tumbles under a Chris Smalling challenge while trying to break into the United area. The visitors want a penalty. Robert Madley says 'no way'. M'Biaye Niang is still having a word with the ref.

Twelve shots from United so far - half on target. There's a bit of a lull in the game as half-time nears.

The news United fans have been waiting for...their team, as it stands, is above Liverpool in the Premier League table.

Watford need to dig deep. United look like they mean business and are hunting a second goal. Antonio Valencia has been excellent and almost creates another opening for Anthony Martial. 

How are United not ahead?

Another blistering attack and Juan Mata lays it on a plate for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, unmarked and 15 yards out, but he blazes in Row Z.

That's a bad miss.

Terrific United move almost leads to the breakthrough.

Antonio Valencia powers forward before clipping a low cross into the path of Paul Pogba, whose first-time attempt is heading for the bottom corner before Heurelho Gomes stick out a strong hand.

Watford will be encouraged with this start. The mid-table visitors have weathered waves of United pressure and have also created a couple of openings themselves.

United have the ball in the back of the net after a quick free-kick but referee Robert Madley deems it was taken too quickly.

Another ambitious attempt from Watford who are beginning to find their feet at Old Trafford. This time Mauro Zarate goes for a spectacular acrobatic kick in front of the Stretford End but David de Gea has it covered.

This is frenetic, such a good pace to the game. A great match so far, and you have to give credit to Watford who are bombing forward with pace whenever they win the ball. 

However, Manchester United have such an exciting front four. There will be goals today, you can feel it.

Best chance of the game so far - and it falls to Watford. It's all down to Jose Holebas who ventures from his own half before firing just wide.

United respond immediately through Paul Pogba who lets fly from 25 yards and forces a fine save from Gomes.

Cracking game.
